Hi again. I'm delighted that you enjoyed viewing my orchids. They are my all-consuming passion. How I wish I had a greenhouse. Mine grow on our balcony. What a shame yours didn't fare well. Many hobbyists grow them indoors on windowsills, taking care not to burn the leaves. Maybe that would work out for you. A phalaenopsis would be a good test plant. They bloom for weeks at a time, sometimes for months, and are readily available. So, can you tell I'm hooked on orchids? LOL Enid

Marjie Dear, you are absolutely right. It's amazing that we never hooked up as WS friends after all this time. Well, that's taken care of. Thanks for catching it! Now I can keep up with your gorgeous photos. BTW, thanks for your darling messages about my furry boy. He is two and a half now and what a big character. He's very smart and knows it! DH and I are going to have to start spelling words when we don't want him to know what we're saying! LOL BTW - thanks for the heads up on the pet pics contest. I'll check it out. Haven't been here much lately because my computer pooped out and have been setting up a new one. Ain't that fun! UGH! Hugs, Enid

Dear Marjie...Help! I've finally made an entry in the Webshots Photo Challenge, and it's not showing up on the display page, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It's probably about 20 hours since I finished loading and tagging the photos. I'm fit to be tied. Does it take that long? Could you find time to look at my album and see if you see what's wrong with it? I've never entered the challenge before because my old camera didn't have high enough resolution. Until I got a new camera at Christmas. I don't have a lot of photos taken with it yet, but I saw I had something for last week's challenge and when I was loading it, there was a big wind storm, with 95 mile an hour winds. The electricity at my house was off for 2 days and I missed the deadline for the challenge. It's been 4 days and there are still people without power. Trees are uprooted all over town. Every house almost has branches down and some have powerlines down. It's terrible. Anyway, so I had photos for this week which I put on last night and also some ready for next week's challenge. Please take a look and see if you can help me. Thank you so much. Your true friend, Carol Jean :)

Thanks for the comment on my photo of the ceramic shop tables. I have to say I was surprised that this photo was chosen out of that album since the photos are of a spectacular setting in Tuscany and that photo was left in the album almost as an afterthought. Never the less it is nice to have people enjoy the photo.

Good morning Marjie - I just powered up my laptop - as I was looking at rankings in the 'Travel - Washington' category I just noticed you're four slots above me! Don't know why I didn't see that before. Have a good one. :-) Madge

Hi Marjie, I have been so busy with everyone else's roses and making sure that Susan is aware of the additions that the roses that were here to begin with have kind of taken a back seat to the beauty that everyone has added with their photos and well wishes... I almost forgot that they were in here!! Thank you for your very kind comments on my photos and for liking them enough to use one for your screensaver!!! Susan has a long and difficult road ahead of her!!! They still have to yet remove the tumor in her lung and can't until she gets rid of an infection...

Funny Bunny! :D...while you can still get around, huh???Well beautiful, I wouldn't worry about that for a quite a few decades, :D...Are you just planning on heading to Italy? Or Holland too? (I remember you had talked about that a few years ago...Thanks also for your note of support about getting the repeat THIEF de-throned. Not only did they pull his feature, but they deleted his albums again (for the 5th time I think) Everytime the guy just reloads his site with more photos stolen from w/s members and internet. Go figure! I'd get tired of wasting my time - it's kinda funny though that the super thief got featured. I am very surprised w/s lets him keep his account open. I'll stop by again soon to catch up hopefully, at this point though I am wondering if I'll ever see the light at the end of the tunnel again, I am burried in work and 2 - 3months behind on w/s, phew! Cheers and hugs. Marita

Marjie - Thanks for visiting my albums - I worked on the Seattle waterfront for 14 years, then quit when I raised by children. But I still love the beauty and power in the men and machines that keep our port moving and producing. I'll never tire of the startle that comes from being busy, looking up and seeing a 8, 9 or 1000' foot vessel glide silently into berth, it is surprising how quiet they can be!

Hello Marjie - Thanks for being my new WebShots friend. The only time I was in the Mount Rainier area was in March 1982 when I sent to McChord AFB to participate in an Air Force exercise at Fort Lewis. At that time, I was stationed at Nellis AFB in North Las Vegas. The area reminded me of my tour at Bitburg AB in then West Germany (1977-79). Bright regards -- Larry

Marjie, I was in the submarine service from 1970 to 1974 and spent two years on an old WWII Diesel submarine, the USS Pickerel and then two years on a "Fleet Ballisitic Missle" nuclear submarine, the USS Bancroft. My time was mostly spent in the northen atlantic, mediteranian and the carribean areas playing "cat and mouse" with the Russians at the end of the Vietnam war and during the "cold war" with the communists. I was a machinist or mechanic. Too young to realize the dangers or be frightened of the reality of it all. After I finished my enlistment, I got out and went to college to become a Physical Therapist, then a Vascular Technologist, then a Family Physician, then a Wound Care Specialist. I think I have finally found the right "hat that fits" now, and I spend part of my time in a Primary care out-pt clinic and part as the medical director of a Wound Care Clinic and I have an on-going hospital practice at the Medical Center where I live here in Georgia. Gosh, I'm tired after thinking about all that! No wonder I'm turning grey and losing my hair!! Well, anyway, God has been very good to me and I feel very fortunate to have had the experiences and adventures he has allowed me. My wife, Wanda, is my primary nurse and is my right hand at work and my wonderful partner and best friend as well. We like to travel a bit when I can get away for a few days, and that usually provides me an opportunity to fiddle with my photography hobby now and then. We also enjoy flower gardening, our wonderful cats and dogs and, of course, our grandchildren (6 of them at this time). I certainly enjoy your photo albums and its always nice to hear from you! Regards from Georgia! - Kent

Hi Marjie - Thank you so much for noticing that I had one of my photos featured yesterday and for all your kind and encouraging comments. It was such a treat to read them! That lovely pink peony is called 'Vivid Rose' I think because its scent is more like a rose than a peony. It's my favorite. Glad you enjoyed your visit to our garden. Have a great weekend. Kathy

Glad you liked the tour ;-) Yes it was a bus tour from Tacoma to the Mount Baker , Shuksan area . The tour company was Discover tours . I wouldn't really recommend them though unless you like buses ;-) The prices are fair but it's always a long bus ride and little time at the destination . I think it was 3 hours on the bus up there 45 minutes at Heather Meadows 5 minutes at Mount Shuksan no time even viewing Baker 3 hours back with brunch and evening pie for about $50. . We had to insist that the driver stop at Shuksan for 5 minutes ! The tour said Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan . But the driver just went past Shuksan , and Baker was totally off in the distance . But I was really pleased to be brought to the unexpected Heather Meadows location . Down below the little blue lake is Artist Point . Standing at Artist point Mount Shuksan is big as life off to the right . Most people around here have never heard of Mount Shuksan for some reason even though it is one of the most photographed Mountains in the world and most beautiful .
