  • Marjie... I'm am spending 99% of my internet time now on Facebook... do you have an account there yet? I find is a much more suitable venue to showcase my photographs and my business. It is perfect for business networking and networking with family and friends. I am totally addicted to a couple of the many games available there as well. EVERYBODY is on Facebook. Why aren't you?

  • I just checked more. PhotoImpact Pro Version 13 is by Nova Development and is the latest version. PhotImpact X3 is by Corel. I am not going to buy it to test it. I will see if I can check with Vickie on Redbubble to see if it is similar to what I showed her.

  • Glad to be friends. Hold up on the version 13. I am in the process of removing it to try a free trial version of PhotoImpact X3 that I think is going to be a newer version. It has good rebates right now from the manufacturer, Corel. I will get back this evening

  • Hello friend, If you are bothered by spammers, we must act until Webshots find a way to eliminate. Look at my "profile" in my homepage. If many members write the message in their profile, spammers will be discouraged. Several members have already done. Or write on spammer's homepage, the message: SPAMMER YOU ARE RIDICULOUS AND DISHONEST. DO YOU REALIZE THAT YOU MAKE ANTI-ADVERTISING, BECAUSE EVERYONE HATES YOU AND HATES SITES THAT YOU PROMOTE. Thanks

  • Dear Marjie, thank you so much for watching my new album about Giant Panda 'Fu Long' in the Viennese Zoo Tiergarten Schoenbrunn! As for the cake: it was made of frozen fruit juice, e.g. Root beet and orange juice, and it was garnished with bamboo, carrots, green and red peppers and others! It was so nice to watch the two of them, mom Yang Yang and 'little' Fu Long (50 kilograms! ). Hugs and kisses, Vera

  • I used to get all of my comments on my email, but WS isn't doing this for me anymore. How about you? I left some comments on your exquisite cats. I love them all, but Murphy is my favorite. Shirley Clark

  • Aloha Marjie. Even though I'm not licensed to do so, I shot a wedding two weeks ago and I've done a couple of sittings for engagement photographs over the summer. There is just too much pressure for the photographs to come out perfect in one session, so I don't really like doing it. I'm afraid that my camera is just about worn out and I desperately need a new one. Gyuri Nagy and his family just left last Saturday after nine days on O'ahu. I spent two FULL days with them on photo safari and one looonnng day at the beach teaching their boys to surf. Gyuri got some pretty good pictures of them standing up on the boards so I guess the mission was successful. Gyrui's wife spoke fairly good english so she interpreted for me and her family. This Webshots union was exactly what it should be. The Nagys are delightfully wonderful people. The two boys are precisely what every parent dreams about having. I was deeply impressed by these two young men. Gyrui should be posting his images of Alaska and O'ahu within the next week or so.

  • Hi Marije, and thanks for the lovely message of support. For the NG competition, copyright is retained by the photographer, but NG requests a non-exclusive license to display or use the image for 24 months. Since it is non-exclusive, we can still post our shots elsewhere if we wish, as long as no other entity has a claim on them. Then all rights revert to the photographer. But as an amateur, I would not mind having National Geographic showcase a photo of mine for a couple years, so I don't worry about submitting. The pro rules are different. Hope this clarifies. ~ Brenda

  • Dear Marjie, I have just entered the National Geographic photo contest with six of my shots and am letting my WS friends know. I'll give you a link to three (I believe you can search for others), and would appreciate it if you could take a look. There is a people's choice award, based on voting by the public, as well as the judges' selections. The cougar shot seems to be my top vote-getter so far. The two cats playing are next - they're my Manx rescues, Gollum and Aragorn. That shot was here on WS and recently won a best-in-show at a local photo exhibition contest. The hummingbird is one of many from my garden. But the NG competition is huge, with thousands of entries, so mine will get lost in the crowd. I just figured I might as well try, just to see if people like my work. Enjoy! ~ Brenda http://www.worldinfocuscontest.com/bin/Rate?image_id=1006807530 and http://www.worldinfocuscontest.com/bin/Rate?image_id=1006807532 and http://www.worldinfocuscontest.com/bin/Rate?image_id=1006807528

  • Thank you for your nice comments. Along with the lifetime membership, WS also gave us an 8X8 photobook of our images for free. I must say, these brand new photobooks are quite impressive, relatively inexpensive and well worth looking into. The Java scripted program is extremely versatile and easy to use so that you can include only the images you want in a wide variety of layouts to choose from. I can't wait to see my finished product. The photobook line also includes a coffee table sized book (of course, for a little more money.) I really can't think of a better gift to give yourself or to family and friends for this upcoming holiday season. Check it out... Aloha, Clark

  • Hello Marjie. Thankyou for all your lovely mail. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but my ancient computer finally admitted it's struggle to cope with my huge and wonderful collection of photographs from all over the world, got 'chronic indigestion' and gave up. I now have a new one with a big wide screen, super for photos,( and seeing small writing! ), with which I am delighted....re your Sanfrancisco album,.. Lovely that you have a friend to share you photo explorations with.(Is that Jennifer, the artist friend you featured in your album 'The Ruins'Seattle restaurant' ?) As you say, artists certainly have a special way of seeing things, and you have that too....Fascinated to hear about your 'nursery days' here's me telling you all about David Austin, when you could probably tell me a thing or two !!!!. At least we have a shared great affection for his glorious roses and their wonderful perfume. I too have a miniscule garden and am limited for space, but I'm seriously considering simplifying my layout to allow space for more roses, they really are my favourite flower. Hope your fence-painting is all done now, and that your roses will soon be in full and glorious bloom. Have a happy summer, love and hugs, Sheila.

  • Hello Marjie. Thanks for all your lovely photo comments. So pleased you found the time to stop by and take a peek at Rosie and Jo-Jo. I too don't have the time I would like to spend here on Webshots. The kittens are taking a lot of my time at the moment and school is very hectic at this time of the year. Still just 2 more weeks and counting. Leave for Italy in 3 weeks. I'll be away for 24 days. Take care. Hugs, Jayne/England
