    • Thank you for the information on the trees in your album, they are beautiful, and so are your albums.

    • Thanks for your comment. You are probably right that the bird I saw here in El Paso, TX is not the gray breasted woodpecker you photographed in Oaxaca. I'm not certain precisely what kind of woodpecker it is. You can see it in the album located here: http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/577033539ijOVIN I have never seen one this tiny before, but it does have a red head. I really hope you do not consider this a spam in sharing the location of these bird photos, as that is not my intent. You seem so knowledgeable about birds I thought you might recognize this specific tiny woodpecker.

    • Howdy ya'll. Just wanted to thank you for your recent critique of the images in my Technical Experimentation album. Those images were done in April when I was first starting out with HDR and Photoshop techniques. It is now late June and hopefully I am getting better and better. It depends on the viewer in many cases, but I must have gotten pretty good after a couple of weeks because I did get 3d place in the HDR CC with this photo. http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2248522740053442417hdEwBI Thanks again, however, for the critique, because it is due to the assistance of others that I am able to improve my skills. I am jealous of ya'll's equipment. BTW, I have started using a tripod more and more, as well as having learned from Clark Thompson to make a good HDR from a single handheld photo. As hinted at previously, however, I find I am spending more and more time just preparing my photos for upload. In most cases, I spend three days to process one day's photos.

    • Dear friends, I apologize for the lack of recent activity on my part, but I have spent the last 5 days either taking photos or preparing them for upload. I desperately need your help. I just uploaded an album of the pictures I took over this last weekend. Some are HDR from several similar photos but different exposure levels. Some are RAW photos which were reworked in Photomatrix Pro. Some are done the same way I have always prepared my photos. Some are digitally manipulated. I will not tell you which is which. I just need you to look through them and tell me which ones you like and which ones you don't. As I am always trying to improve the images I present to you, so your help is especially appreciated. I can tell you right now that I did learn one thing, my friend, lilolewine, was right when he said you cannot take bracketed pictures on a windy day. Also, Susan assisted me in picking which technique looked the best on some of them, but, again, I can't tell you which ones. Please have fun and let me know what you think. Thanks in advance for your assistance. -- Tiger PS. Because I am so very behind in seeing all your beautiful photos, it would be a great favor if you would tell me what I really need to look for when visiting your site. Feel very free to leave me a link or two in any comments you make on the pictures in my "Technical Experimentation" album.

    • Love all your work here! I also use a Canon. The 40D, and just got the 100-400mm lens just a few weeks ago. And was out just this morning taking some bird pictures with it. They're so new they haven't made it on to Webshots yet. Keep up the great work!!! John.

    • My friend, just wanted to apologize that I have not kept up with your creativity of late. I just returned from a 2 week road trip to the Four Corners area of the US, have 5 days worth of uploads to caption and title, and 6 days worth still to upload. I'll be busy trying to get my albums in order, so please excuse my lack of attention for a couple of weeks.

    • Ohhh Al & Linda!! Guess what? I went back to Marsh Bend today and got more pictures..this time from the other bridge..oh boy..It was a picture perfect day today!! It was sunny out, bright blue skies, not one cloud!! And the temperature was about 57 degrees, which really wasn't that bad, it was actually refreshing...so after Marsh Bend, I went to Jumper Creek and hiked a new trail off of Kettle Island Trail, which I think since it is so close to the bridge it is called Otter Slough Trail. I got 3 great pics of a Luna Moth! Then after I got home, I could hear them..in my backyard..the Robins are Here!!! It's officially Springtime here in Florida!!! YAY! Soooo if ya get time, check em out! Thanks!! Hope you had a great day!! Michelle {Lady in the Woods}

Well, I would like for you, when you get a chance, if you would, to take a look at my Marsh Bend Photo Album and tell me which bridge picture I should enter in the challenge!!! Ok Thanks a million, Michelle

    • Hello friends,nice album! I've never birded Virginia and will be there for a week starting this Sunday. Your album has helped me study what to look for. The Indigo Bunting is near the top of my "wish list" for the state! I live in Okinawa Japan and have been doing bird photography here for just a year now. Here's a link to my photos: http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/264665192cLzQzI?start=108 Keep up the good work!
