Hello again Waltraud!! Thanks for stopping by ... yes ... I'm sure you're right ... darling John C. may indeed have been a bit sheltered. I think your point of view is an extremely valid one. Life is full of the dark and the ugly and the evil. One of the things that makes photography or painting so powerful, is how it can affect far more than our eyes or our intellect ... it can affect our hearts. The choices a photographer or painter ... or a writer or a film maker ... make ... to capture the beauty of life or its ugliness ... are the mirror image of the choices we all make every day. Pick up the cigarette or not?? Be cruel to your co worker or your mother or kind?? Life is all about choices. And I've gone WAAAAY beyond what John C or you were talking about ... forgive me!! But I am sorry that you have experienced the ugly side of this good life and that it has saddened you. I've been there, too ... not many of us of a certain age have escaped, I'm sure.
