Hey!!! It is nice to see you visited my Germany collection! How I wish I had a digital when I lived in Europe!! Wow, that would be so fantastic! I used a Nikon 4004s, which I still have but no longer use, of course. They are beautiful prints, but of course nothing compares to digital technology! I am happy to hear from you Vic! Sharon
Aloha Vic! I have posted a One Million Views thank you image to all my family and friends in my collection Perception is Reality! Thank you so much for your kindness and your friendship, I wish you a delightful day! Sharon ~ Here is the link ~ http://entertainment.webshots.com/photo/2793649490052197924OagRMB
Aloha Vic! I drove from Delta Junction at 0600 to the Johnson River in the Alaska Range where I could see the snowcapped mountains. There is almost no traffic at that time in the wilderness on the Alaska Highway. So I stopped in the middle of the bridge suspended 100 feet over the river and shut off the engine of my truck, sitting there alone in the silence and wonder watching the sunrise, it was so beautiful!!! And that was when I heard her calling, she was very close, and her call was so soft and sweet! She sounded exactly like the falcon in Lady Hawke! I looked up and the Peregrine Falcon and her mate had built a nest on the top of the steel beams of the deck truss bridge just 10 feet above my head! We made eye contact!! He flew off toward the mountains on my left, and then she flew off on my left, circled back to the nest then away again and I took the shot. Spirit of the Dawn ~ Freedom's Northern Wind ~ This is Alaska! is a composite image, three photos stitched together. The top third of the image is of the female falcon as she is flying away from me on my left toward the sunrise sky. The center third of the image is a crop of the sunrise sky on my left, for I needed distance between the falcon and the mountains to make the stitch. The lower third of the image is at the exact same location and time looking toward the Alaska Range on my right as you can see the sunrise shadows cast on the riverbed below! Then I adjusted contrast and smoothed the image removing the digital noise. Other than that very little was done with the final image. It blended together so perfectly. Sometimes when I create stitched panoramic images, they are magic!!
Aloha Vic!! Oh yes, absolutely!!! I wish we could be on the island at the same time, it would be so fantastic to meet you!!!! Soon, most definitely one day!! For the next time I go to the island, it will be to stay and I will not leave again. So I will send the information to the email address you just provided, I know you will love it! And the owner Ken is such a cool guy, perhaps you can play drums together, he knows everyone on the island, well practically everyone!! And if you do stay there, tell him I said Aloha!! Sharon
Aloha Vic!!! I am delighted to hear from you!! Long time no hear from!! I am currently in Alaska! We had planned to return to Maui by this time in September but plans have changed and it is looking like late winter or early spring before I will be standing on the shores of Maui again. I do have many friends on the island and some excellent choices for you, and one is for a stay in a wonderful private Ohana in the Haiku jungle on the North Shore where you may go out in the early morning mists and pick your own fresh papaya, banana..etc. if you are interested!!! Let me know, and I'll send you the phone number and website so you may contact the owner, Ken, directly, he is wonderful, I highly recommend him, and I know you and your wife will like him. It is peaceful, secluded and very quiet off the road to Hana midway between Ho'okipa and Huelo . Mahalo ~ Sharon
Hello! I'm trying to view and comment on your album but the Webshots links aren't opening the images, so I may have to come back another time! I just popped in to say hello and see how you are! I wish you a wonderful day! From what I see of the thumbnails on the first page the images are very beautiful! I can't imagine why they won't open! Sharon
Aloha Vic!! Mahalo nui loa e lokahi!!!! Thank you!!!! I am currently in Alaska having returned here about a month ago for the remainder of the summer. Oh, by the way, if I update my personal album with more photos from the 60's, I was only a child!! In the mid 60's I was 10 years old!
ghmagic is your wife!! How cool is that!!! I just sent her a friends invitation!! She had left some comments on my images and her albums are locked. I wished to reciprocate but was unable to leave a comment!! Tell her I said hello Vic!!
Hey Vic!! Thank you!! Yes, the Alamo was fascinating at night with the black sky and the golden amber lights highlighting the alto relievo of the old adobe structure and casting interesting shadows!! It is good to hear from you!! Sharon
Hi Victor! Thanks for the kind remarks regarding my San Antonio missions albums. I viewed your album but you have the comments turned off so I couldn't write in the guest book or comment on individual images. I liked the angles of a lot of yours at San Jose Mission, different than mine, nice to see other views. It was actually raining the day we visited 4 of the missions and that really enhanced the stone work and brought it to life. Tho the day we visited Concepcion Mission the skies were blue, that was nice too, but the rain added more drama I think, even so I had many shots that I didn't post due to rain on the lens and it did cause a focus problem. I did add you as a friend thanks for the invite. You have a lot of interesting albums and I am anxious to explore. Greetings from, OKLAHOMA. Susie
