Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my photos. I changed the title of the dragonflies to damselflies. Thank you. Now every time I see one I'll mentally measure the length of it's tail to determine which it is. Nancy

Hi Virginia, thanks for visiting our Loon and Sandhill Crane albums, and for your very kind comments, we really appreciate them. We hope that you have a great time while visiting N.H. (that is where we are from) this summer and that you have many photo ops while you are there. It must be so much fun to have the cranes wandering through your yard on practically a daily basis, and to be able to watch their young grow has got to be amazing. Take Care ~Deb & Rick~

Hi Virginia, thank you for your comments for two photos about dice snakes, on in Macodonia, the other from Turkey. I am a professional herpetologist (a biologist specialized in ambhibians and reptiles), and hence, looked for those snakes. BTW, I lived of three and a half years in Florida, studied for my PH.D. and photographed some more snakes. All the best to you, Konrad

Ohhh Virginia!! Guess what? I went back to Marsh Bend today and got more pictures..this time from the other bridge..oh boy..It was a picture perfect day today!! It was sunny out, bright blue skies, not one cloud!! And the temperature was about 57 degrees, which really wasn't that bad, it was actually refreshing...so after Marsh Bend, I went to Jumper Creek and hiked a new trail off of Kettle Island Trail, which I think since it is so close to the bridge it is called Otter Slough Trail. I got 3 great pics of a Luna Moth! Then after I got home, I could hear them..in my backyard..the Robins are Here!!! It's officially Springtime here in Florida!!! YAY! Soooo if ya get time, check em out! Thanks!! Hope you had a great day!! Michelle {Lady in the Woods}

Well, I would like for you, when you get a chance, if you would, to take a look at my Marsh Bend Photo Album and tell me which bridge picture I should enter in the challenge!!! Ok Thanks a million, Michelle

Thanks so much for visiting our albums and your help with the iris. I too hope you can see a jack in the pulpit someday. They are quite common here in northern Illinois. I love to find them in the early spring as they just emerge. They are kind of like may apples except more pointed. I used to dig wild flowers just as they emerged, planted them in pots, took them to school and had my students try to identify them as they began to grow using reference books. The first one to name it correctly got to take it home. Many planted them and told me years later that they still had it. Joan

Thank you for your kind comments on my Backyard Birds of Central Florida. I recently discovered a Great Blue Heron nest and will put together an update on them, hopefully ending in the hatching of a heron.
