    • Hi Albert: You're most welcome for any help I've provided. I try to help out where I can. Thank you for the accolades regarding my new grandson. As you're still not feeling the best, don't overdo it with the imaging. I know how anxious you are with the D90, but you could end up being worse off. Though I don't know what illness you have, but if it's the flu or respiratory, you may risk getting pneumonia and be screwed for Christmas. Better to hold off a bit and shake what's ailing you rather than be laid up for Christmas. Sorry for sounding like a parent, but it would be a shame if you got worse. All the best to you Buddy, Ron.

    • Hi Albert: Sorry you've been ill. As you've been down a week with it, it must or must've been a heavy duty dose. Hope you're on the mend. If you HAD to get sick, better now than at Christmas. At least that gave you an opportunity to read the 90s manual. I've been pre-occupied also. I became a 3rd time grandfather...a boy. That's 2 grandsons and a grand daughter. She is the 'big sister' of the newest arrival...although only 20 months herself. Anyway, as your daughter is 18, the 40 wouldn't be enough. Best to get one she can grow with, as she becomes experienced. The 60 or 80 should do nicely. Even the 50 if you can find one. As I close, I'm pleased we're both on a first name basis now. :) It makes for more personable correspondence. Get well and hope it's not too long before you can initiate your 90. All the best, Ron.

    • Hi Guy: Congrats on your D90 purchase. Though I haven't seen its specs or features, I hear it's top dog for video or filming. That's apparently what sets it apart from its competitors. How old is your daughter that will 'supposedly' be receiving the '40'? I'm just wondering whether or not it'll be enough camera for her. If she's pre or early high school, it should suffice. By the way, what's your first name so I can address you properly...instead of Guy or Dude. Good luck with the 90. If you don't mind me suggesting, if you're using J-peg, go with the Fine setting for higher quality. I myself use Raw, which is one reason I don't upload directly. Before I close, thanks for the compliment on my Painter's Field 2. That's why I love Autumn. Colour is EVERYWHERE. Take care 'Bud'. Regards, Ron.

    • Thanks for your kind comments on my Oregon coast album. These photos are from the very southern part of Oregon. Unfortunately, we hit dense fog for several days going north. I appreciate your support! Darlene

    • You left a lovely comment on an autumn photo. My fall pictures(a whole album) were stolen from my albums by 'tw10000'. Many were featured in the fall webshots album! This person deliberately received the praise for work he did not do!!! He doesn't even have the guts to have a profile. The pictures are mine! Darlene from Ontario

    • One more thing...whatever you opt for, use the highest resolution setting for optimal results. You won't get as many images, but you'll have the quality, and that's what counts.

    • About the D50 I use, I'm very happy with it, but was informed it's not made anymore. When it first came out, it was Nikon's entry level digital SLR. Now the D40 is, but would stay clear of it. It's not as versatile as the 50. The next one up is D60, which has quite a few features. The 50 is easy to use and produces superb images, even only being a 6.1 mega pixel. Still, a 20x24 print can be made without digital break up. If you're set on a D50, perhaps you'll find a used one. There's always people trading up. If you want to aim a little higher, there's always the D60 or 80. I hear the D70 has been discontinued also...but don't quote me on that. I hope I've been of help. Regards, Ron.
