Thank you for your encouragement on my album, 'Found Quilt Blocks, Granny Weaver Block'. It has been a long time in the works, but the results are pleasing. Thanks for your visit and have a good weekend. Marie

Hello, my friend, You once visited my quilt album, "Found Blocks Quilt", and left a message. Guess what, I have finally finished the quilt I had shown in blocks. I have called it, "Walk About My Garden". If you would like a look I will put the address at the bottom. Marie http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/551499796gFEZkg

Thanks, I have been looking at getting out there for a week. A couple weeks ago it was not in full bloom. Weekend before last I was heading to Chattanooga when I spotted everyone out taking pictures. NO CAMERA with me. Since then rain and busy has prevented me. I wanted partly cloudy and blue skies behind them. I am hoping to be out there today just before noon then go to lunch back in town.Weather says partly cloudy. Time will tell.

The Cherohala Skyway could use some trimming to open views at some stops. When did it open? I would have to say the Blue Ridge Parkway out of Asheville, NC heading north has better views. The views are limited a lot to the overlooks mostly. It was a good days outing. Stopping in Tellico Plains for lunch was good. I enjoyed the sandwich a lot. We have been eating cookies and pastries from there all week. Glad I did it, but would like to see it in the fall and winter. The falls and lunch at least will be a stop. while we wander farther north into other areas.

Hi again, I just might be interested in day hiking with your group - come fall and winter. I'm not fond of heat and even when I used to hike regularly I would go "in absentia" in the summer months. I would also love someone to knock around with on short photo excursions if you're interested. Let me know. Susan

Hi Susan, Thanks for your note re the bear creek trail. I did something that any 70 yr. old female with any common sense would NEVER do ... I went off hiking in the woods ALONE, without letting anyone know where I was ... without so much as a cell phone for an emergency. I had on slick bottom sneakers, no walking stick, no water and nothing waterproof to put the camera in. I walked the rocks successfully at the first creek crossing, but when I came to the second one the little smarts that I have kicked in and told me to turn back ... so I didn't get to the giant poplar. You're right about the mountain bikes! I was blissfully taking my photos when out of nowhere this bike came screaming down the trail and scared the hell out of me! And even that did not prepare me for its happening a second time! Isn't it nice to see our area so lush again after the years of drought? Hope you're looking forward to a good summer. Susan

Hello. Thanks for looking over the "Found Block" album. I did give it a name: "Walk About". I put my blocks back for a while. I have gotten a piece of plastic to make a template so that I can get the white strips to match, but I haven't gotten back to it since. I have at least 5 sampler quilts to put together also, so whatever catches my fancy at the time is the way I will go. Right now I am finishing up a sampler from blocks made 5 years ago. As you may guess, it has been a chore to match fabrics for sashings and borders, but I expect to finish it next week, after Thanksgiving. Thanks for your interest. Marie

Hello there, Thank you for visiting my Wedding Warm Wishes picture. Yes that is the Baptist Fan. My daughter does the machine quilting for me and she always does a great job. Hey I didn't know this quilt was a most viewed picture. I have been away a lot this summer and haven't kept up with the chosen pictures. Thanks for letting me know. My daughter also did the quilting on the Patriotic Quilt. That was my first real quilt and she did a great job of covering for my mistakes. Marie

I wanted to thank you for your great review of my "Looking Ahead on the Loneliest Road in the United States" photo entered in this week's CC contest. From a quick view of your own albums, it is evident you have a fantastic eye for what makes a great photo.

Thanks for your nice comment on my North Georgia autumn album. Maybe we have crossed paths when out shooting since I, too, am from Ellijay. I retired up here from ATL the beginning of '07. I only tuned in to the WS "walks" and CC's a couple months ago. Then I quickly spotted Jim from his local albums. We ought to all get together sometime. I'm about 5 miles south of town off Old So. 5. I'm also another Susan.

Thanks for the comments on the reflections on the Coosawattee. Some sections of the river are low and a lot of rocks now. The bridge is a single lane bridge for cars. I have to travel on it when I go south from my house. If you are refering to carter lake, it is a few miles from it inside the Coosawatte River Resort. We have a foot swig bridge also, but it is a couple miles up stream.

Hello from Ellijay. Thanks for the comments on the Blue and Gray. That was a small demo type show at the Riverfest in Canton. This Saturday we are going to the the Praters Mill County festival just north of Dalton. You can find info on a google search. From what I read, they will have some live civil war entertainment. We missed the big one up in north west Ga by Tunnel Hill. Vice President Cheney was there. I will be there next year for sure. Civil war re-enactments are big in Georgia and can be found on Google searches. They also travel to other states to join in on re-enactments. Major battles and on horseback. Check out my redbubble account: http://www.redbubble.com/people/police370 I have some of mine and others favorited. I have aged the photos on Redbubble. Neat site. You can actually sell your own if you want and it's free. Many Webshots members are on there. More a place to put your best, share and sell. Lots of cahllenges voted on my members. Sunday we will be at the Apple festival bright and early before the gate opens. if you see a dark blue Tahoe in the parking lot, we will be in it drinking coffee and reading the newspaper waiting for the gate to open so we can park close. have a great weekend... Jim

Hello Susan: Thanks so much for your kind comment about my Calgary pictures from 2006. The trip was like a dream. You will enjoy it very much! You are welcome to post a link on your blog. I also had 4 other albums of shots I took in Banff and Lake Louise and the surrounding area that you are welcome to see as well. I was on a photography workshop up there and I hope to go back someday. It was marvelous. Make sure to see Peyto Lake and Moraine Lake on your way up to Jasper. They were both breathtaking, although I did not get to see much sun there. I appreciate your visit. Also, I live just down the road from you in Sandy Springs and have visited Ellijay many times. Best wishes... Rich in SS

It does appear that you also live in Ellijay. I have enjoyed seeing someone elses perspective of the many places around the North Georgia Mountains and surrounding states. Looks like we have similar interests in places to see as you do. I have seen a few you have been to that we need to visit yet. Keep enjoying the enjoy the mountains. I look forward to seeing what other places you may discover that we can also visit. My albums are almost all from the areas arround Ellijay. We live in Coosawattee River Resort... Jim
