  • I did not see you wrote, or I would have gotten back sooner. If you copy and paste these coordinates into Google Earths' "go to" search window, and then zoom down, it will show you the exact spot this is laying. It is a sandstone deposit near the Salton Sea, in California. It is on the surface of a large rock that has recently fallen off the side of the wash. There is not much loose debris on it, and it is not made of clay, and is not considered to be a big Trilobite area. This area is known for shell fossils, bird and some other mammal tracks. Also, many Mammoth tusks have been pulled out of this old lake bed. I think the area is from the "Pliocene" time period? 32°59'49.61"N 116° 7'38.36"W Again, I am not rock or fossil person. But I do enjoy learning about critters that have come before. I have other rock things on the photo sight as well. Feel free to look around. Thanks Again for getting back with me, Jesse http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/561954095OLFSKG?vhost=outdoors
