    • Dear Skipblue ~ Not sure if you're still active on this acct or not but your pics. of Blue Knob came up on a search that I did tonight and I had to reach out and take the chance! My husband and I just returned home from a weekend away @ BK and we actually stayed in one of the cabins they did not burn down! What the heck went on up there? My husband counted over 18 foundations that had been burned...trees are still charred from the fire and we actually explored one of the two structures left intact (cabin/bathroom) but they did re-do 3 cabin up above those burned structures and rent them out...My husband kept saying how strange the entire park was...and we have traveled to many PA State Parks and this one was different! Do you have any idea why on earth they burned them and would risk burning down the woods? The cabin we stayed in, from one window if you looked hard enough you could see the beautiful chimney (your one pic.) on top of the hill - the other structures that were burnt down were down just below our cabin - the one park ranger only stated that @ one time the section we were in was used as a boy's camp and they only salvaged 3 cabins...Fisher's Haven, Bear Den & the Directors Cabin. We have some pics. of other areas too such as that ski resort/lake...this is crazy! Any info you can offer up would be wonderful! I know the camp was done in Oct. of 1939 - over 2000 young men from CCC came and built up the park but that's all I got!! We really enjoyed viewing your photos!!!! Take Care ~ Holly
