Hi Sharon -- first the photo of the combine at sunset is a really great photo - it should be on a calendar - it has such great qualities -- now the fort - most of the forts here are maybe 100 years old maybe a little older -- mostly they were built to protect families and possesions against marauding nomads, there really weren't countries then but different tribes would try to steal from the nearby other tribes -- in the 20th century some were actually used to house British and other troops trying to establish borders. Thanks for the visit and for the compliments. This lovely English cottage is in Shottery, Warwickshire England, and was the home of Anne Hathaway, the wife of William Shakespeare. It is preserved in period, and the folks there are extremely knowledgeable. If you're near Stratford-upon-Avon, I highly recommend the short trip to Shotterly.

Hi Sharon. Thank you for your kind words re: my featured album Carlsbad Caverns. I've only been a member of Webshots for a couple years. But I was pleasantly surprised being honored. A Char & I will be riding a steam excursion train in New Mexico/Colorado on Sep 21 and chase the train the following day. Hope we catch the aspen trees in golden yellow splendor. Sharon, I think the problem with pics not showing up is a webshots problem, because I was having the exact same problem with EVERYONE's shots yesterday..then I tried again last night and could get most of them to show up. Try again later with my son's band shot, it will work...THank you for the effort today!

Sharon, The Saltaire Resort that u commented on in 3 paw, is actually not a hotel. It is used for private parties, business parties, and has concerts every once in a while...It is also used as a dance hall..it has gift shops, and souvineers...but not used as a place to stay overnight..It has a large history..as this building is pretty new...but it was originally built in the early 1900's and was a dance hall then...but it burned down like 3 separate times after being restored...Some think it is haunted as there were some people killed in the first original fire. I just happen to think it is a very unique building, as it looks like a mosque from russian decent or something.. Thank you for your comments..I surely hope that your Colorado trip helped make you feel better..Seems as though it may have!! your shots are awesome! Lori in Utah

You have many friends here. I am still at Ashley and in August it will be five years there. You had not met my wife and son, right? Dear Sharon. Well planning to leave for France and Bayonne the 20th of June. Two nights there enjoying these coastal areas and then the eastern end of France - Belfast. I night and Hamburg. WOW - something already pocked. Leaving for Finland and Helsinki by boat from Travemynde. 36 hours just taking it so easy maybe something nice reading with me. Warmest - Antti

Hey Sharon, Laughlin was founded by Don Laughlin (you were close) He still lives here today. He has a penthouse suite at the Riverside Casino. (The Riverside is his casino). This man did so much good for this town. He even built the bridge that gets from Arizona to Nevada there at Laughlin.

Hi Sharon I just heard about what happened to Walter...Now for the bad news, recieved the news this A.M. Big btother Walter passed away from a massive heart attack while on holidays down south. funeral will be I believe on Monday. This is what I got from his brother Dave. Hi Sharon ...its Larry, I just popped by to answer your Q...How did you come out with the flood waters? I was not affected directly as I live in the west end of Winnipeg, near the Assiniboine mind you, but it never seems to present problems, because there is a diversion at Portage La Prairie that diverts most of their water to Lake Manitoba...The only problem we had was our sewer line froze right under the street, and you guessed it right at the end of my driveway...I had to monitor it 24/7 for several days...Most of the problems here were from flooded farm lands around Winnipeg, caused by massive ice jams...By the way I sent you an e-mail to the posted address on your profile...Hope that's OK...Larry
