Since I started Webshots in 2002, I have uploaded 9,542 images. 458 empty slots remain before I reach 1.5 million hits. I’m up to 1,472,370 WS hits. Geez, I hope I don't get one of those POTD's or a featured album! That might push my Webshots hit-o-meter up to a speed I can't compete with. Given my batting average here at Webshots, the probability of that is near zero, even though I a m ranked third in the Digital Art category.

Hello Randy,my dear long time friend here on WS.I know you haven't heard from me for a long time.Please forgive me for not visiting your awesome photos. I love your beautifully stunning photography in your beautiful albums.I miss everyone so very much!!Not being so active on WS in the passed year is due that I was diagnosed with a Tumor in my brain along with Hydrocephilus[water on the brain]in my brain which gives me the problems of falling and symtoms of Dementia & Alzheimer due to this medical problem.I had brain surgery 3 months ago & in slow recovery.I have not driven a car and being home bound for 9 months which limits me enjoying my photography & oh how I miss using my Canon EOS 40D Camera.I try to keep my spirit up but it's difficult at times.I think about my friends here on WS all the time. Oh, how it has opened up a world of wonderful friends for me.I pray my friends do now give up on me!Thank you for all your wonderful comments and kind words for the passed years. Dear Randy, I have just entered the National Geographic photo contest with six of my shots and am letting my WS friends know. I'll give you a link to three (I believe you can search for others), and would appreciate it if you could take a look. There is a people's choice award, based on voting by the public, as well as the judges' selections. The cougar shot seems to be my top vote-getter so far. The two cats playing are next - they're my Manx rescues, Gollum and Aragorn. That shot was here on WS and recently won a best-in-show at a local photo exhibition contest. The hummingbird is one of many from my garden. But the NG competition is huge, with thousands of entries, so mine will get lost in the crowd. I just figured I might as well try, just to see if people like my work. Enjoy! Thanks for the lovely message, Randy. I must spend some time on RedBubble; I signed up but only posted a few shots there. I'm having some issues with the resolution of my Webshots images just lately and wonder if they've changed something. What looks crisp and clear in my files, and when printed, seems blurry when I upload it here. This is especially true of some wildlife closeups. I think I read someone else's post awhile back, mentioning this same problem. Anyhow, I bet you're enjoying retirement and drinking in the summer scenery where you live - I still hope to make it that far before I exit this mortal stage! ~ Brenda

Your "little corner" of Webshots is not so little these days. I finally came by to do a little exploring among the images taken by the "Michigan Lighthouse Guy." I'm glad you "retarded" from healthcare finance. I have no doubt the photos you share do as much (or more) for people's health as the rest of the healthcare system. Sure, we need functional biological mechanisms ... but without a soul (and for for such) would it really be life? May your light continue to shine ... :)

Hi Randy. It was good to see your dog entries in the pet challenge. Been awhile, eh? I took a break from WS, then came back to upload some new shots and challenge entries. I needed to find out if there were any changes to the general atmosphere over the past several months. But then I tried to enter the Furry Pets challenge, and found out that international WS members aren't permitted to do so. Non one will explain why, although there are several posts in the Pets on Webshots blog about this issue. I'm back to wondering, again, why I'm here. It doesn't seem to bother most people that WS is doing this kind of stuff to its non-US members, most of whom pay to be here, but it sure does bother me. Oh well. I can sit back and mull it over. Meanwhile, I finally got my passport so I can travel across the border and am hoping to do that one of these days. The West Coast is my goal. I want to see some of those gorgeous shorelines that you photograph so well. Hope you had a pleasant winter and that spring is bringing you much joy. ~ Brenda
