Hi, my husband is aboard DDG 108 PCU Wayne E. Meyer (she won't become USS until after her commissioning in a couple more weeks). Seeing these photos has been amazing for myself and our children, as we are already awaiting Daddy's homecoming out here in San Diego - not for a few more months, mind you.
I would like to save some of your photos from the Sailaway, with your permission...I see a notification telling me 'only friends may save files from this member'.
So...how do we become 'friends'?
Thank You Kindly,
Erika
I hope that everyone viewing these photos understands that I have not represented any of the vessels on this site as anything but DDG51 class destroyers built at the Bath Iron Works and as such they are the latest in their namesake lines.........that is, prior ships of the same names are no longer on active duty!!
rehartme: the PHOTOS you claim are of the USS GRIDLEY (DLG-21), sure aren't the ship I served on 1965-1967, which was the third ship in Naval history to bear the name GRIDLEY. Are you sure you're not mistaken? Hope to hear your replay. Greg
Thanks again for those great shots of Sterett afloat you took right after the ship Commissioning last May. I was able to post them on the Sterett Association website. They were a great follow up on our reunion weekend in Portland since many who got to the Christening cerimony never got to see her afloat because the float-off was later.
I have learned from the first Sterett 104 Newsletter that DDG-104's first Sea Trial is scheduled to get underway Jan 9, 2008. That's right around the corner! Wondering if you will have the opportunity to take a few shots?

Hi, I'm an artist, love doing pictures of Maine, I found you while researching the Townsend Gut. Great photos, and I love the view of the BIW too!
Thanks,
Jeannette
Hello, I found your pictures of the USS STOCKDALE and will be an Officer serving in the ship, and would like to request permission to use your pictures of the ship. Thank you for your time. I can be reached at 619-279-1343 or at stoical2@yahoo.com
Very Respectfully,
LT Matt Weaver
Hi!
I find your photos via Google (search on USS STERETT) and find them terrific. I am the DESTROYER HISTORY TRUST at www.destroyerhistory.org, and would be delighted if you'd permit me to use a couple of photos of recent Bath-built ships on that site.
I'd love to speak with you; I'm at 518-644-3268. Sincerely yours, Dave McComb
