Hi Randy, That would be cool if you got to move up towards Portland. You will have to give me mroe setails when they become available. We are Brookings right now. We have been on the coast since Wednesday and should get back home on Thursday. It's been mostly cloudy and windy, though we finally had a sunset last night. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOO envious!!!! But, I'm sitting in the 75 degree sunshine watching Sam pretend to mow the grass. For now, that is my Italy. LOL! Anyway, thank you for the VERY kind words in my latest album. I have not bought a new camera yet so I used my 20D (I have an 18-55 and a 70-300) on many of them and my good old Canon Powershot S50 for the rest. Funny thing is, I still get more compliments on the photos I take with the Powershot than the 20D. Anyway, ENJOY your trip! Let me know when you get home. Good morning, Randy from snow covered upper Michigan. I sure hope that is the last storm. Our poor robins(state bird) which just migrated up here for Spring time can't find any worms. That covered bridge is: Gifford CB - E. Randolph - Orange County. I can't find the excellent site I had back then to research Vermont's CBs, but here is another one I found recently. http://www.coveredbridgesite.com/vt/vt_county.html (the double /vt is not a mistake) The Gifford CB they show in this site is before reconstruction. Thank you so much Randy for your kind comments. Yes I do have some new Oregon albums up. I just put them up and there are a few pictures of Avery Park in there too. Not much and I'm sure they aren't as stunning as your pictures. Anyway, I haven't gotten around to doing any sort of picture viewing or commenting since I just found out that my husband has Leukemia which is a serious blood cancer. He has the acute kind that comes on rapidly. He will need years of treatment. Pray that everything will be okay and he will be healed of this. He's very sick. Thank you again for your friendship and it's nice talking with a fellow Oregonian. I'll check out your photos and your wife's photos when I can catch my barrings with this. Hugs, Michelle

Thanks Randy for the correction on the lighthouse. I do need some help labeling. I have the lighthouse brochure and I'm trying to get them straightened out. When I put the pictures in Webshots they were all out of order, and I haven't had time to get them 'fixed'. By the way, how do I edit them to put first pictures first? I tried to move them but no luck. So good to hear from you. You will have a wonderful time in Italy. My husband's brother has been twice in two years, and plans to return next year. Hi Randy, Have a great time up in White Salmon. You might even get some sun this weekend. I'm sure you won't get the snow you had on your other trip. I well know the trials of shift work. Almost 1/2 of my 30 years at UPS has been at odd hours. Currently I have to get up at 3:30 am to go to work. I do hope to be out of there later this year. Randy

Hi Randy, Greeting from up the valley and across the river. Last weekend I was on a gorge outing with our boys and got a few nice shots, then all of the sudden, as I was heading home the sun dropped below the dark clouds and the lighting became some of the most wonderful lighting I have every been priveledged to photograph. Hi again, Sounds like quite the trip to get home from White Salmon. I am pretty familiar with that area. I had to drive out there for a few years for UPS. Best position I ever had at UPS, but some new manager had other ideas :<( I do know Cooper Spur and it is a beautiful area. Randy

Hi Randy, I had some fun taking those shots in downtown. I had just dropped my wife off for an all day class and as I was heading to drop of our oldest I saw this street with the early light on it and went around the one way streets to get back to it. Very often I am thinking and looking for what would make a good photo. Kris graciously puts up with it most of the time. How was your time in White Salmon? Were you there the weekend they got about 2 feet of snow. Randy

Hi, Randy Thanks for your comment on my rose pic. That photo was taken with a Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D. If I remember correctly, it was taken with the lens that came with the camera...a 28-100 zoom which is also a macro lens. I cropped the photo considerably for a Challenge entry last month, so that only the center is visible.
