  • You asked where is Canyon Lake. It is on the road which is called Apache Trail. From Apache Junction past Goldfield near the western head of the Superstitions up to three manmade lakes of which Canyon is the first, Apache is the second and the Roosevelt is the third. It was the road built around 1905 from Mesa to where the first hydroelectric dam in America was built, Roosevelt Dam.

  • good morning Paul. how kind of you to visit my album Montana Lakes. thank you very much for your comments. Diamond Lake is so wonderful! located high in the mountains of northwestern Montana, it is a spring- fed pristine crator lake teeming with brook trout and has such a prehistoric atmosphere. it is delightful to take a canoe onto the lake and see deep into the waters giant plants which grow up from depths so deep that i could not imagine. it seemed i was looking into the center of the earth. so crystal clear the waters. if you hike the trail up to the magnificent waterfall that is approximately 150 feet high you will enter a world of beauty unlike anything else. but it would be a good idea to carry a weapon for self protection as this wilderness area is inhabited by cougars and grizzly bears. Moose, Elk, Whitetail Deer and many other animals and beautiful birds also make their home here. Thank you so much. i wish for you a beautiful day. your friend in Montana ~karon
