  • Was doing an internet search for "balanced rocks" and came across your pics. I was wondering if your last name was Purkerson. If so, you are probably a relative of mine.

  • I read your comment on my help album. The issue with dropping in the middle of multiple uploads has been around for a while now. I t happens on all versions and ways to upload from desktop to uploader page. I have to say, that it has not happened to me in the past month.I have been using the 3.1.1.7317 version during that time. I cannot guarantee it will not happen with it though. I think another issue is involved. It is a loss of connectivity to the server and I think that is happening during very busy upload times. Whenever it started dropping me, I just walked away and came back later or the next day and all was working OK then. This newest version of the old software not the beta version they are advertising has the least issues so far in about the past 6 months. I am happy with it. Please follow their instructions to delete what you have o your computer now then install fresh. Be very cautious and read everything as you are deleting and installing. When uninstalling, DO NOT SAY YES to deleting the data folder or you will loose all your previous downloads. When Installing, there are some hidden options on the option page. Click on the word permissions to see them on the page where you enter your name and password. Any questions, please ask me.... Jim

  • Given the steep economic downturn up north and the change in USD/MXN, how's the economy in Los Barriles according to the word on the streets?

  • Thanks for all the great albums of your travels down the Baja! I'm working my way through them. We'd love to mimic your adventures and find a hideaway with clear ocean waters... DanSmedra http://lenslight.com

  • Hello, I am a photo researcher working with the creators of a book series called WEIRD US. WEIRD US is a travel journal of sorts celebrating things of a "weird" nature––local legends, odd sites and characters, local haunts, etc. We are currently working on WEIRD OREGON. While doing some research on the Balancing Rocks, I came across your photos on Webshots. I was wondering if you might be interested in having your shot(s) published in our upcoming book. There are three in particular we are considering. You would, of course, be fully credited for your contribution and retain all copyrights to your work. We haven't selected which photos we definitely want to use but I am contacting all photographers under consideration for the "Roadside Attractions" section. If you'd like to familiarize yourself with our publications you can check us out on the web by visiting www.WeirdNJ.com and www.WeirdUS.com. Please let me know if you would kindly grant us permission to publish your photos in WEIRD OREGON by e-mailing me directly at heather@popawheelie.com. I sincerely hope that you'll accept this invitation to come along on our weird ride! Many thanks, Heather Heather Kemp Popawheelie Image Services, LLC Freelance Photo Researcher for WEIRD OREGON heather@popawheelie.com

  • Hi Harriet & Ben, Thanks for visiting my meagre little album on petroglyphs. The photo you asked about was taken at Picture Rock Pass, just west of Paisley, OR. It's just feet from the highway. So you were right: it isn't one of those at Petroglyph Lake. :) Jaci

  • Hi Harriet, thanks so much for visiting my albums and for your nice messages! I do hope you get to visit the Desert Museum some day. It really is a fabulous facility. I am fascinated with the Baja penninsula and its flora and fauna. The Sonoran Desert includes much of Baja and the diversity of plant and animal life is truly amazing. The Desert Museum conducts and collaborates on a great deal of research on Baja and the Sea of Cortez. In fact a number of staff members just returned from doing a TV series for our local PBS station. When do you travel north in the summer? It's getting pretty hot here now, and June is our hottest and driest month, so it's not a bad time to head off to cooler climes. Have a great time wherever you are. Cheers, Carole
