The hotel you're looking at was called Hotel dela Playa. It didn't last long but it wasn't that old eye sore you're thinking about. The eye sore was built a couple of lots down. I'll load a picture that has them both for you in my Caleta album.

Hi Fred, That photo was taken during the late 1930s. I have another photo postmarked 1940 from the same location with a bit more progress with the Malecon. I would be more than glad to send you a copy. How would you prefer I do that for you? By the way... It looks like I'll miss you by a couple of weeks in Acapulco. I'll be arriving February 13th. Andy

Hi Fred, Yes that place is only for those who stay at the Las Brisas Hotel. The only reason I get in is because my friends run the aquatics service there. But maybe I can sneek you two in someday. :) Andy
