Oh my -- I could not believe it when I came across your photos of Crown King run. About 4 years ago my fiance (now hubby) bought a new pickup -- not 4WD and decided he would show this lady from Maine some desert roads. We started out from the NW valley and went thru Yarnell. To make a long story short after 3 hours on "the back way to Crown King" we had to turn around and spend 3 hrs on the way out. He reassured me that he had been there in his Camaro and his van conversion. We met no other vehicles the entire time. It seems that the passenger side was always on the edge of the cliff and at times he would ask me to get out and hold branches back so as not to scratch his new truck. His week-old truck suffered only a chopped up tire -- amazing. He will not be allowed to forget that day. I think he forgot that he had been there prior to El Nino years. Looks like you folks have a lot of fun. Kathleen
