Bonjour bien cher Jacques...J'ai vu que tu etais en train de commenter l'album sur Albi et t'en remercie infiniment. Travaillant en direct, je viens de suivre ton conseil et ai rabote le lampadaire a droite de la magnifique cathedrale dont l'aspect medieval etait, effectivement, quelque peu amoche par cet intrus des temps modernes ! Dear Jacques! I have a confession to make! You know that Manuel is my absolute favorite on WS--both as an outstanding photographer and as a very good friend! Whenever I see first-rate photography (mainly of architecture), my first thought is...Manuel! However, IMHO, you are the King--reigning supreme! Bonsoir mon cher Jacques et a nouveau, un immense merci pour avoir pris le temps de vous arreter sur mes albums auvergnats. D'abord je viens m'enquerir de votre etat de sante qui, pour le moins , devrait aller en s'ameliorant ! Ensuite, decidement, nous passons chaque fois dans des lieux qui vous sont plus que familiers...Versailles et cette fois Vernet-La Varenne ou Pierre a use ses fonds de culotte! Vous connaissez tellement bien cette region que vous pourriez m'en apprendre beaucoup ! Oui, nous avons opte pour la formule camping-car, depuis bien des annees( d'apres la pub, c'est le choix de ceux qui ont tout compris)... Il permet une liberte de deplacement incroyable et permet de passer de belles vacances pour un prix modique. Un des problemes du c.car est la securite, lorsqu'on est seul. C'est precisement ce qui nous est arrive au bord du chateau de Vernet. A deux heures du matin, des bruits de pas se rapprochaient dangereusement de nous, totalement isoles. Heureusement que Babeth les a entendus ! Je me suis precipite a l'exterieur avec une lampe torche, mais trop tard l'intrus s'etait cache, sans doute dans la cour du chateau...Inutile de vous dire que nous sommes alles dormir tout de go, dans le village, en contrebas, a l'abri, en quelque sorte, des lampadaires ! Ce mini-voyage a ete marque, en outre, par un mauvais temps persistant, de sorte que nous sommes revenus a la maison prematurement. L'etape de Vichy a ete la plus ensoleillee, heureusement, car c'est une ville qui vaut vraiment le detour et je voulais, a tout prix, voir ou se tenait le gouvernement de Petain pendant la guerre. C'est dans un immeuble tres cossu, donnant sur le parc du casino... Mais tout cela, vous devez le savoir. Mon cher Jacques, ce fut un grand plaisir que de converser avec vous. Je vous envoie mes plus chaleureuses amities, sans oublier une seconde, Pierre, le petit Bougnat! A tres bientot. Martial
