Penny, I have a FujiFilm S5000. Any ideas how I can get a good night shot of the moon and stars? So far, the auto setting hasn't been the ticket. I have dabbled with the settings here and there, but nothing serious. I find reading tech advice in magazines a little boring. But, I guess if I want to further my hobby into a money maker, I need to hone up on the technical jargon and settings. HELP !

Penny, the polar bear pictures were taken on a Lindblad/National Geographic cruise that started in Bergen, Norway and ended in Svalbard. As you can see from the pictures, the bears were amazingly cooperative. Bruce

Congratulations on the featured album, Penny. Gyuri Nagy (gyuri65) is in the islands. (In fact, I'm teaching his boys how to surf in the morning.) I have never met a more dedicated photographer or nicer guy. Even though he is from Budapest, his english becomes perfect when he talks about cameras and photographic techniques. Gyuri did not bring his laptop on vacation with him and has all of his photographs stored on several 8.0 gb cards. When it comes to equipment, he too is loaded for bear. In about two more weeks he is going to start posting some images that are going to turn some heads here at Webshots. Keep your eyes peeled!

Hi Penny: What an incredible suprise to learn you selected my photo of the box turtle as a picture of the day in the pet section. You must have great patience and fantastic research skills to examine so many members photos, locate ones of interest and then reach a decision. I really apreciate your selection and that so many members also liked the photo. Your selection has encouraged me to keep posting and use the tags to help people locate subjects of interest. The turtle in the photo was in the dunes at Cape Henelopen park in Delaware. I simply lowered the camera to its height and took some photos. It was gone a few minutes later.
