  • Hi Ralph. Thank you for taking some of your time to look at my photos and for leaving a constructive comment on my [ http://community.webshots.com/photo/2941265490053312180XQiZEk ]. As you may easily see I am just an addicted naive and Photography amateur. The photo you commented was a challenge not for myself but for whoever may see it among every other ones in my "leaves" album. Till now you were the first to "dare" commenting it ... and that makes a big difference, i.e., the "simplest" photo in that album grabbed your attention. When I saw the bucket full of Autumn leaves in my garden it was "love at first sight". Nothing fancy or appealing for those who just take a quick look at the whole album. Your opinion means a lot to me and I invite you to take a look at my "B&W ... studies" [ http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/slideshow/561708554IdkOEH ] and if you have time post any comment/critic. Greetings from Portugal. Carlos.

  • Hello Ralph, I am delighted to hear from you, thank you so much for your fascinating email!! Your description of your photographic workshop with the pros sounds fantastic!! It would be so wonderful to have a holiday with professionals, wander about in a beautiful area of the world experimenting with light, and spend the day discussing photographic techniques. Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments of my work, it pleases me that you enjoy my collections, a very small percentage of my images of course. I would love to see your archives!! Yes, we each develop our own unique style. I am preparing some coffee now and will visit your new collections. I am very much looking forward to seeing your new additions. I wish you a wonderful day dearest Ralph! Sharon

  • Hello Ralph! Thank you for your wonderful message and the hyperlinks. Your website is astounding and your wonderfully talented works of photographic art are captivating and an inspiration for me! On Upper Antelope Canyon 2 ~ http://home.earthlink.net/~nordstromlandscapes/id88.html ~ The rich layers of light, dimension and shadow play and wonderful deep vibrant colours are so beautiful, it is a supremely masterful work of visual poetry!! As I study this beauty I am drawn to your words of hearing the gentle sounds of a Navajo flute echoing from the walls and it is so wonderful that you share this experience! It breathes life and spirit into your image and transports me to an evening on Maui, midnight standing near the lava seacliffs of Wa'ianapanapa, in love with love, my heart thrilled because I had seen a humpback whale breach that day in greeting, listening to the ocean song, rythymic swells and powerful waves below against the sheer cliffs... in the midst of the mahama lauhala groves gazing up through an opening in the canopy marveling at a brilliant full moon with a perfect rainbow halo silhouetted by palm fronds, (the image is forever in my mind's eye and in one of my albums) when I heard in the distance from the direction of the ancient King's Trail along the coast, floating like a supernatant dream through the rainforest, low rythymic primal drumming and first a man and then a woman softly chanting... a sound of the ancient Hawaiian song drifting on the soft moist air like a fine mist, the ancient words sacred like a soft caress touched my soul and filled my heart with love .... it moved me to tears as I listened intently for such a long time as it wafted and waned throughout the night.... It is a profoundly spiritual moment I will always remember.... a pivotal moment in my life, it changed everything...
