Greetings from Alaska & Thank You so much for your visit and kind comments on my POTD featured photo. I was surprised to find the announcement in my email and all of the comments are humbling. The Eagles are my favorite majestic bird. Eagles are loyal birds and mate for life so when you see a big pair it is almost always male & female occasionally it will be parent and offspring. It takes many long walks and hikes alone on very cold days to find a good shot, this picture was shot with 200mm telephoto on a winter day the temperature was -5 f. “cold fingers & toes” Again Thank You & best wishes from Alaska, Dave

Hello Pam, I am pleased that you do lap swimming it is such a good exercise and so kind on the joints. Any water exercise is good. I taught swimming for many years and looked like a piece of tripe when I retired , all wrinkled like you get when in the water most of the day. Miss it but it is a long time since I retired. Hi Pam, I'm a loooooong way away! I live in Tasmania, which is an island state of Australia (where the Tasmanian devil lives). I have a few albums of my home state up if you ever want to take a look sometime in the future. It takes so long to fly anywhere from here! Hi, Barbara. I'm so glad you liked my collections and that this particular bird struck your attention. This is the tocororo, Cuba's national bird for its feathers have the same colors of the Cuban flag. It can only be spotted in the easternmost and westernmost provinces and even though it's protected its population has been dwindling on a steady basis and is now an endangered species. I hope you could someday come down and take shots of a tocororo. Best wishes from Havana.
