Bill, Very thrilled to hit the site with my Google of Ascom City. I arrived there Dec 26, 1955, and departed Apr 1957. Assigned to 55th QM Depot Property Office. R&R to Japan April 1956 and Nikko, Japan, Dec 1956. I referred my daughter-in-law to your album of "#2 KOREA, 1957-58, Seoul, Ascom, Inchon, Kimpo AB and Osan AB", saying I coulda/shoulda taken pics like these -- sites would have been same. I will be looking at all your albums. email at <reidfm@gmail.com> Thanks, Floyd

I'm currently in the 136th CES, but I have many friends in or from the Aerial Port Squadron. APS personnel slots were cut back a few years ago, and they recently merged into Supply, prompting some cross training. They're all good people.
I passed some of your pictures on to current members. I'm not certain some of them appreciate the hair and clothing styles they made back then, but they were enjoyed.
You must have been in the 136th TAW about the same time I was. I was actually in the 136th Comm Flight upstairs in the main hangar. Went on a few summer duties in the 130's. I was there when they transitioned from the KC-97's and went on one "Creek Party" trip in one of them.
Bill, You took some great shot of the 1965 SCCA race at Green Valley. I was one of a three man pit crew for Jim Thompsons red Lotus 7 America, E-Production that weekend. We also had the silver Mustang Hi-Po that raced in GT class. I took several photos from the pits of the race and some of cars in the pits. Check out my WebShot pictures at KenMilesGT350RModel98 . Glenn gamafay@att.net
Bill Strouse, Question about the photo of LC-N. What was your uncle's name? I'm the historian for the 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw AFB, SC. I also served in the 77th TFS 1980-1987. Have not seen this photo of 11161 before June Nite was applied. We of course have shots of her after and of 44-13637 with a much simpler "June Nite" on her nose. This plane had been "Smoky" Maj Gilbertson's old mount LC-G.
Hello, my father served in your TX ANG 136th unit. Wondering if you remember MSGT James W Phillips? I have a bunch of photos from your unit my dad took. Could you please email me at G36MP5@MSN.COM Thanks, Kelly

Bill Strouse, what a treat to see the Class of 1956 reunion photos of Danville and DHS.
I graduated DHS Class of 1976, it was great to see one of my High School Teachers in your photos, Mrs. Poynter.
Thank you for sharing your collection, it was great to see all the pictures of Danville.

Hey Bill, I found this site by accident one day and started thru the pictures and was quite shocked to see me standing with 3 other guys at the airport in Manila.
I went thru probably all of your pictures of cars, airplanes, countries, and many other things and it reminded me of the old days in the 70's and 80' when we would play the 20 questions in the rate department at CFL. I have started a process that I will tell you about later but if you could contact me at ronh4412@yahoo.com I would love to hear from you
Hello Chief,
Outstanding pics of Rhein Main. I have always heard of the Creek folks, but never saw any pics. I would enjoy hearing from you.

Hi Bill. Got your message that you just got back a few weeks ago from Hawaii. I am so jealous! Also saw that you served our country for many years and protected our freedom, thank you. I have one brother on Oahu and one on the Big Island, unfortunately I still have to scan my Hawaii fotos to the computer. Thank you for your kind words. My email is luvmywestie@sbcglobal.net

Hi Bill, I came across your photos of airplanes at Junior Burchinal's place in Paris Texas from the 70's. I visited Junior several times a few years back and made some photographs there. I would really like to know more about him and was wondering how well you knew him and his aviation school/museum. Please email me at jon@jonathanpetersonphoto graphy.com.
Thanks,
Jon
Hi Bill, I saw your R&R photos of Tokyo from 1958. Really great!! I live in Tokyo now and found the photos to be very fascinating. Please post all you have!! Thanks much, John (ex US Navy, USFJ HQ Yokota AB, 1987-1989)

Thank you very much for your comment on the Plymouth Coupe, I appreciate it. I don`t know the US-Cars that well, so I`m glad for every correction.
Sorry for confusing you, but it`s just a "Citroen CX" not a "Peugeot Citroen CX". That would be like a "Plymouth Buick Coupe" ;)If you like Peugeots, here`s the best I`ve spotted so far

I was stationed at Camp Kittyhawk from July 1978 to July 1979. It was so small, that 'compound' only had 80 people, on an good given day. Anyone else know what a 'turtle' is, and have worn the JSA badge. Please e-mail me at dlcrerar@yahoo.com
Bill - Sorry to post this here, but your e-mail address was on a computer that crashed a few months ago. You and I talked about my sharing pictures of John Thornton at my AeroKnow web site, and you gave permission. Then my computer crashed. On a different computer, I was asked by Arcadia Publishing to write a book about Springfield aviation history, and your site came to mind. In fact an Arcadia acquisitions director sent me a link to your terrific web project. You are locked in this time, and you can be sure I will visit often and recommend you to friends. I want to make good my plan to tell people about your site at AeroKnow and want to discuss permission to use some of your pictures in my book. May we converse via e-mail? I am

I really enjoyed your Korea pictures 57-58. I found this site searching for C-124 and Kimpo. I was stationed in Korea Nov 57 to Dec 58 at Battery A, 1st
FOB, 24th Artillery near Camp Saint Barbara. Stuck in my memory were my three R&R to Japan - Kimpo to Tachikawa on c-124s. Your pictures look like they came right out of my camera. Thanks
