About Me more
Well, for those who don't have a lot of family, except the 'family' they have on WS and such, this new SMILE pretty much leaves them out. It's a great idea, but why take away what we've always enjoyed and BEEN PAYING MEMBERS for? GOODBYE? email ?

It is, for me, bad news that Webshots is closing. I enjoy the sharing, the competitions and the lovely comments, and sometimes advice or knowledge, that everyone makes. I cannot see in the Smile option any way to maintain contact with the friends I have made - some for many years. I am also not sure what other photo-share system would be best to use, although Flickr seems quite good. An alternative is to make Circles of friends in Google + and share through that route. Whatever, I am sending to you my email address and ask, if you would like to maintain the contact, that you and I have had that you return the compliment. I can also be found on Facebook as Jim Bruce but use that sparingly. Very best regards to you either way, Jecurb Jim Bruce ajlbruce@gmail.com

Hi Jesi. Soon we won't be viewing each others photos or leaving comments here on Webshots. They are closing for good at the end of the year for our photos in public viewing and only allowing us to keep them for storage on the desktop. If you are on Facebook or Flikr, you can keep in touch there. Thanks for all your comments and support. Darrell

Hello Jesi, thanks for visiting my Nancy Greene Lake album. Wild strawberries are delicious...the problem is they are not very big. Sorry you had a bitter experience, maybe they weren't ripe. C'mon, give them another chance! Richard

Hi Jessi. You have some wonderful photos. You can never put too many on line. Just look at how many I have. Thanks. Darrell

Hi Jesi, I’m so sorry that your trip out west may be cut or cancelled. Thank you for your comments and friend ship. Take care and the best of life to you.

Thank you for your comment on my burnt stump "eagle" photo. Have a great day! Ken

Well, the way I did this one was to go on Devinart and steal a couple of paint splatters. Put them together with some bottles and some figures (some are mine) that I got on the same site and blended them into the paint. I made them the same colors as the paint and the paint bottles. I used photoshop to put it all together. If I had the steps I would be happy to share them with you but all I saved is the finished picture.

Thank you so much for your kind words on my photo. Did you know there will be no women in heaven? Read Revelations 8:1 ;)) Thanks again

Hello Jesi, catching up on some past due acknowledgments: Thanks for your comments on my little visit to the ghost town of Golden, Oregon. Since your familiar with our area, you'll know what I mean when I say it is near the town of Wolf Creek. Richard

Hello Jesi, thanks for the round of comments on our Siskiyou Peak hike. Like you, I am partial to the Siskiyous although I tend to stay out of there when the weather gets too hot. It's just perfect right now unlike your 108 degree weather...whew! I'll eat a popsicle in your honor! Richard

Hi Jesi, thank you so much for your lovely compliments on my Alaska photos. I am sorry you can't download your photos of Alaska taken so many years ago, have you tried taking the camera to a good quality camera shop, they might be able to help you, then you can see all your wonderful photos. Lois

Thanks for the complement. Even my friend Ansel Adams never found this view. It is one of my favorites.

Jesi, I was trying to leave messages on your photos but there is evidently a problem right now here at webshots. I will be back. Jim

Jesi, thank you for your many kind comments on my Wildcat Creek, Rimrock area hike album. Yes, those are long leaves on the agoseris flower. No the elk was not following me. There was one that ran off before I cold get a photo.

This is how to get to Devils Garden, when you are at Bryce Canyon National Park head east on highway 12 toward Escalante. There is a BLM visitors center in Escalante that can give you detailed instruction to literally hundreds of sites in the area. Anyway, continue heading east on highway 12 about ten more miles and you will find a dirt road heading south to Hole-in-the-Rock, take this road. There are a lot of slot canyons and interesting hikes on this road and Devils Garden is about 20 miles from highway 12. I wouldn’t recommend that you try to go to Hole-in-the-Rock it is a long hard drive and you will most likely have to hike about six miles to get to the site. Enjoy your trip. Norm

Hello Jesi, thanks for your comments on my Lost Creek hike. Unfortunately, I didn't finish the album until today (It was a backpacking weekend) so I certainly encourage you to come back and see the rest of the pictures complete with captions. Also, make you stop by to say hello if you come out to visit this summer! Richard

hi Jesi, it looks like I will be here this summer. I was a little late applying for horticulture internships across the country, so may be stuck in the hot desert for the summer. am moving to a new place in early June, so I will let you know. you can get my email off my garden blog, i think - it is bavariansnowflake, it should come up in the search results then, if not let me know. :)

Hello Jesi, thanks for swinging on all the bridges with me at Capilano Park. That was certainly a unique place to visit. Glad you enjoyed the pictures. Richard

Hi Jesi and thanks for visiting and commenting about my new photos. It was a fun hike and place to explore. We even got stopped by a BLM Ranger. Yahoo what a blast.

Thanks for your compliments regarding my High Sierra Trail album. HST-034 was taken 16 miles from the Trailhead.

Thanks for the comment on the Quilt square. It is a pattern made for cloth. It would be a lot of pieces though.

Hello Jesi, thanks for the chuckles stemming from your comments about our beach/swamp hike/wade at Bullards Beach. I write a column for our local newspaper and I wrote about a marsh wade on a hike we did several years ago. I wrote that the water came up to mid-thigh which meant it came up to Lois's (my short friend) neck. Right there in print! She gets a lot of abuse from me. Richard
