Hello, Nik. Many thanks for all the kind comments you left on my photos. I consider it high praise indeed when it comes from you. It was surprising to get your comments because you had just been in my thoughts the previous evening. We must have had some sort of ESP going! LOL Hope everything is going well for you and your family. Regina

Hi Nik..Wow. You must have been online, when I wrote to you...Such a quick response!!The Sandfestival was such a treat...I would have stayed all day if it hadn't been for my husbands lack of patience..All those interesting sculptures with deep carved faces, reflecting and changing as the light and the sun moved arround . ..It was great!!.....In the Boys will be boys album, we visited a nearby field, where modelplane constructors once a year, puts on this show...They build the planes and practice flying all winter...Sometimes they crash during landing but most of the time it goes well...It is the most skilled "pilots" who participate in "hunting the fox". ...They get a point every time they cut off, a pice of the fox's tail. Very entertaining....Thank you for you

Nik, The only true HDR photos in the whole album were Leon River and Neff Watertower 1-1 and Neff Watertower 2-1. Leon River from created from 3 bracketed photos in which the wind ghosted the vegetation very badly and from 3 out of 11 exposures on Watertower 1-1 due to the same ghosting problems. I was able to use all 10 images on Watertower 2-1. Some of the last photos in the album were produced by trying to use one RAW image to produce a psuedoHDR image in Photomatrix. The other "manipulated images" (some weren't) were produced by merging unaltered images over one highly (called local equalization on my Corel Draw Suite v12 software) equalized photo using usually either add, subtract, lighter, color, hue, saturation, behind, overlay, soft light, hard light, or color dodge filters. I had always done little more than minor color processing to my photos, thinking it a bit unfair to digitally alter my images. I am, however, finding it is widely accepted, often applauded, and, from some of the HDR photos I have seen, produces miraculous results. As such, I am experimenting more widely with the programs I already have some proficiency in using until I learn how to produce the type of HDR images I can be proud of. Also, from some of the images I have recently seen, some very vivid colors seem to come through in taking very long exposures on dark nights, so I am experimenting with that, as well. I am getting quite a few comments on the experiments, so it might be a time before I can addequately address all the critique. I am definitely appreciative of your comments and suggestions. I have only recently begun to crop. I always reduce my photos to 2400x1600 at 300res, then, of late, convert some to object and stretch to fit the frame so as to improve compositions on "snap shots." I have some ambulatory problems with extensive walking, so take a great number of photos right out of the car window. This does not always allow for the best perspective. Thanks for your treasured comments and critiques. -- Tiger

Dear friends, I apologize for the lack of recent activity on my part, but I have spent the last 5 days either taking photos or preparing them for upload. I desperately need your help. I just uploaded an album of the pictures I took over this last weekend. Some are HDR from several similar photos but different exposure levels. Some are RAW photos which were reworked in Photomatrix Pro. Some are done the same way I have always prepared my photos. Some are digitally manipulated. I will not tell you which is which. I just need you to look through them and tell me which ones you like and which ones you don't. As I am always trying to improve the images I present to you, so your help is especially appreciated. I can tell you right now that I did learn one thing, my friend, lilolewine, was right when he said you cannot take bracketed pictures on a windy day. Also, Susan assisted me in picking which technique looked the best on some of them, but, again, I can't tell you which ones. Please have fun and let me know what you think. Thanks in advance for your assistance. -- Tiger PS. Because I am so very behind in seeing all your beautiful photos, it would be a great favor if you would tell me what I really need to look for when visiting your site. Feel very free to leave me a link or two in any comments you make on the pictures in my "Technical Experimentation" album.

Wow, nothing new since Dec. 4. You, my friend, must be having a superb holiday with your family, sick, or either are up to your ears with work. I am so hopeful it is the Door Number 1! Anyway, my friend, despite my pessimism, I have actually completed uploading, titling, captioning, and tagging the complete 13 albums of my recent roadtrip to the four corners area, and, have reordered it so that the first day is at the top and continues down day to day from there. That being said, please have a look and leave any compliments or critique you wish. As well, because I have fallen so far out of the loop, please feel free to leave a hint in one of your comments to anything special or new on your site you should wish me to take a look at!

My friend, just wanted to apologize that I have not kept up with your creativity of late. I just returned from a 2 week road trip to the Four Corners area of the US, have 5 days worth of uploads to caption and title, and 6 days worth still to upload. I'll be busy trying to get my albums in order, so please excuse my lack of attention for a couple of weeks.

Hello, Nik. Thank you so much for the holiday wishes. I understand about time restraints. They are a problem for me, too, especially this time of year. All my best to you and your family for a wonderful holiday and the happiest of New Years. Regina

I agree with your statement that something should be focused in photographs. I tried and tried to produced a focused shot of an object that continually moved, but am still having difficulty in adjusting shutter speed. I was just so intent on using a photo of that effect as a macro, I used the most focused shot I had. I actually thought the soft, unfocused effect did give the shot an otherworldly feel.

Wow, Guaya, huh! Probably a bit too far for me to drive my jeep. Good to find someone in my profession with the same hobby, though. Your photos give me a level to shoot for.
