  • Rob, didn't take much encouragement from member jannetie but it didn't take me long to see that "Crystalized Orange Crush" is an outstanding title for this image. Credit for the title given and image dedicated to you. Thanks Rob for your superior wordsmithing: http://entertainment.webshots.com/photo/2549781270035127249bBGkoH

  • Rob, Thanks for the update on your situation. Sounds like you're handling it with your usual aplomb and savoir faire. You also seem to be taking advantage of Joan Baez's admonition, "Action is antidote to despair." And, I could be mistaken, but I sense a perverse pleasure in you as you pass by office buildings teeming with cubical humans stressing their guts out over their lack of power as they slave away over useless, plastic #####. Have you ever read Melville's "Bartleby the Scrivener." If ever literature was therapeutic, that might be just the ticket for you. I admire you, Rob, as you struggle through this with millions of other Americans ##### over by our modern day Roman Empire. That Dubya he's our Nero, fiddled while New Orleans drowned. Bush helped put this country in the tank as I said he would. Any chance he'll invite you over for barbecue on the fourth? Well if not, ##### him and celebrate your new found freedom. In crisis there is opportunity and adventure. Paul

  • It's me again, My husband did reserch the SX1 IS and the Canon DSLR and was surprised that my new camera seemed to offer more in some areas. You may want to read up on it if your thinking about a camera in the future...Jules

  • Hi Rob, My new camera is Canon's newest Power Shot. I had been using a Fuji S5000 that I got in 2004 but my husband thought I was ready for something better, wasn't I lucky. I'm still getting used to all the new modes and how tho use them properly. So far all travel photos have been taken with the Fuji, we'll have to see if there is much difference in my photos the next time we travel. Cross your fingers..Jules

  • Hi Rob, if you have some time this week please check out my three posts on HDR, I purchased Photomatix, not bad but I still have alot to learn...I copied from our recent message from you as follows..There are sliders to move around to get the image how you wish. I have a set parameter that I use for all of my HDR photos as a starting point. I then tweak these sliders slightly for the look I want....I am having problems tweaking, as it does not seem to make any difference...What do you mean by I have set parameters...Please reply when you can...OK..regards Larry

  • Hi Rob, I really appreciate your quick response on my Q...this morning...I have copied it and will definitely look into the effective software required. It will probably take me some time to master, but I love a new challenge my friend...This information is really appreciated...Thanks a million, the good news is I have the rest of my life to play here...LOL...Note: I see the 3 a week group has fallen right off in participation, but that's fine, as it was getting very burdensome especially for working folks like you...Take care now...Larry

  • Yo Rob, Great to hear from you. Loved your always to-the-point political commentary. You should write a column! You do have a way with words, my good man. Stay in touch! Paul

  • Howdy Rob, The Wiseman House is not HDR. There are only two HDRs in my Techical Experiments album. I was actually trying to emulate HDR effects using my Corel Draw Suite 12 software. I am still experimenting with HDR, but seems that I am spending all my free time just working with my images, I seem to miss out on most of the other great work on WS currently.
