I prefere Animals really can have theyre life free!!! But, as you see for the reason below, it is better this way: The park is located halfway between Vallorbe and the Vallée de Joux, which is bounded by the majestic Dent de Vaulion, a paradise for wild goat. Fir forests in harmony circumscribe the grasslands, grazing on the American bison. The hut was 1972 converted into a restaurant and has since expanded. 1987, settled in the area bison. In 2001, after five years of hard work and intransigence, the Blanc family could finally put their plans into action: the creation of a habitat for bears and wolves in the same park Thus in 2001 a pack of wolves located in a European park, of course, has been redesigned and offers examples of the wolves and a spacious living and freedom. A few months later joined to the amazement of visitors to European brown bears in the area. A long time ago already bears and wolves have lived together, as demonstrated by the naming of places in the area: " La Gouille à l'ours "(" The Bear valley ")," La Gombe à l'ours "(" The Bear Canyon ") and Matthew d'Orzeires, which means" the bear cave. " The visitors move from one access route to 400 meters long observation platform at three meters high. The hinterland of the park is dominated by a natural rock face 10 to 20 meters high. The visit will be complemented by various educational information about the species and rounded. Hope i was pf help! Have a wonderful time, Hugs, Eveline

Dear Pat, about your question: it is not a real zoo as there are living only 3 spezimens in the park. Wulfes, i have done an album, Bears and Bisons! Since some years ago, Wulfes and also Bears are grossing our country again. This is rather unfortunatly for both, animals and humans! As long they keep walking high on mountains then, ok! But, as they are also hungry, "normal"! They are coming down where sheeps and herds are grasing, and do what theyre nature ask them to do and are killing them. So it becomes very dangerous for humans too as our country is very small and like everywhere more and more people wants to live there! I stop here and beginn new....

When the Cuban lizards first appeared many years ago they about pushed the anoles out, but now it's about fifty fifty here on The Mountain. Same thing with the Cuban tree frogs too. The anoles in The Woods go from dark brown to bright green. < Maybe because they live on a brown house there.>

Thanks for your expert info! This is just a fun site, not writing a book of species. When I purchased these beauties, they were on the shelf and were noted as African Violets. I don't think Walmart specifies exact names of species. But it's a nice thing to have someone so educated on different species make a corrective comment on all my pics.

Hi Pat, Thanks for your visit. Yes I was breeding over 35 African cichlid species before I stopped 2 years ago. I hope to resume when I retire. If you like betas, could I suggest an album I had under my son's name " Beta Experiment " http://community.webshots.com/user/mika353 dating when WS limited our albums to 10 and to 24 pictures. (the album had at least a dozen pictures cut off. Take care, Michel

Hi Pat, Thank you ever so much for your welcoming words. It has been a bad year and a half, but thankfully we're back to being normal again and that's pretty good. I hope you and yours are doing well and have a safe and enjoyable Turkey Day! Hugs right back at you, Paul.

Hi, Pat from Niagara Falls, this is Pat from P.E.I. Lol. Nice to meet another Canuck. Thank you for the squirrel comments. He is a brave little guy because my Pom was beside me barking at him. He decided my side of the pole was less threatening, I guess. It was a fabulous opportunity to photograph him up close.

Hi Pat, thanks for the comment about the time and day stamp. Hope it didn't ruin the picture for you. Just for my own reference. Any way to get rid of it?

Hi Pat! Thanks for inquiring about Solomon. He will let me rub his back, but he still will not sleep in the bed I made for him. He stayed gone for about 30 hours and I was concerned that something happened to him, but then he showed up... yet when he opened his mouth to meow, he couldn't... there was no sound... so something must have happened to him. He will walk on the porch but won't lay on the couch as he did before... instead he lays on the fallen oak leaves in the yard. I tried picking up Solomon but he resisted so much, that I had to put him right back down... at least he didn't scratch or bite or hurt me at all. This is going to take a lot longer than I thought. I just want him to stay nice and warm and dry this winter. I hope I can at least accomplish that much... I'll keep trying. Love & hugs, June

Hi there Pat! Yes, those Bison were real close. We were in the van but surrounded by the herd. It would have been dangerous if they got mad. Thankfully, they just wanted to graze. How are you doing? Hugs Joy

Thank you, Pat, for your message in Solomon's album! He let me touch his head today! He has gained weight since he has arrived here and I've been feeding him. Have a great day, sweetie! Kisses & cuddles to all your furry babies! Love & hugs, June

Thank you, Pat, for the nice comment you made in my album of Solomon! I don't know if he will ever trust me enough to pick him up and take him to a vet to be neutered! Even if I managed to pick him up, I can't see getting him in a carrier, but you never know. He wasn't as skiddish today when I went out to feed him... he seemed to be more comfortable with me around. I just hope I can get him to sleep in the bed I fixed for him on the couch on my front porch... if he will just go in there to sleep at night, he'll be warm from the cold... I'm concerned about him making it through the winter. I wish you an amazing day, sweetie! Hugs, June

Pat, good to hear from you. Yes, I know I can block users, and probably blocked about 20 of the spam users, but he/she must have hundreds of accounts here at webshots, because I get the same spam over and over again even when I block them. He/she has a long user name that spells no words, in other words something like this xkfmehtrnbcmnejrj, Maybe I will allow everyone to comment again and see what happens. I notified Webshots of the problem and got a message that they are working on the problem.

Thanks for your comment on my zebra longwing butterflies. That was not the only time I saw more than one. One morning my husband located about 20 hanging in a tree together. It was a very unusuaul site.

Hi Pat... I've been getting spam every day but blocking the users doesn't work... they create new user IDs every day. Many members have had this ongoing problem and have resorted to blocking their comments to friends only. Glad to be your friend!

Hello Pat. Thanks for visiting my "little" bike ride along the Oregon coast. I especially appreciated the comment about having guts. Most people just tell us we're nuts! Richard

Thanks for looking! Mr Spliffy used to be a wild woods cat and a mighty hunter. He has been a house cat for many years now. About five years ago he "killed" a power cord in the garage one night and burned his mouth <and fried his brains somewhat too> and lost most of his tongue and some of his lips. Now when he grooms <tries to> himself, it's mostly slobber and chunks of fur pulled out with his teeth. So now it's a bath once a week and collar and shirt so he isn't too bald and ragged looking! I hope Fall is getting to your vicinity. It's sure hot and dry here in Central Florida.

Pat thank you for the information on the other falls of NY. I love to hike and plan on taking more weekend visits to areas that are near where I live in NE Pa.

Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my photos. Regarding your question about the vine that attracted the butterflies, it was growing along a neighbor's limestone wall and some of it started growing across the alley along a telephone pole and the garage to our apartment building. I'm not 100% sure but I think it is called a coral vine.
