  • hi molly, thank you for such high praise! those y-seams are machine pieced- they all are except for the smaller ones within the center medallion- i appliqued them to the background. i've found that with accurate marking (i use a ruler and a really sharp pencil to mark the quarter inch seams along the inside edges where the pieces have to join) and if i get the machine needle exactly in the right spot, the block just sews itself! it's really not as hard as you might think! but thanks again!

  • This quilt is an original design by me. The feathered star was a UFO in my cabinet for years and I just started putting borders around it and it grew. I did it by hand except for a few long construction seams and that feathered star was done by Marsha McCloskey's method. Thanks for your nice thoughts. Kathy Timmons

  • the quilt is based on a japanese quilt book- it's all in japanese, but there's a 300 on the cover. there are pictures of 300 6.5 inch blocks. i made mine 4.5 inches and only sewed 100 of them. thanks for your nice comment. ellen

  • It was a BOM at Country Stitches in Burlson, TX. It was using Marti Mitchell's templates. Joy Joslin
