Thanks Sam, I'm glad you are still enjoying my photos. I know all about peanut butter, I have a peanut butter feeder that is covered with the cheap peanut butter mixed with various seeds, and I also have 5 pine cones out that have that same mix spread on them. All sorts of birds are attracted by the covered pine cones, but only a few have found the peanut butter feeder that I have out. It's a fairly new feeder for me and it's hanging on a feeder stand that is really crowded. I'm sure once summer rolls around my little summer visitors will find it quickly. I also put out peanuts in the shell, and like your Eastern Mountain Bluebirds do with you, I have a half-dozen or more Blue Jays waiting for me to put out their peanuts every day. As soon as they realize I'm up, they flock into the yard and sit in the trees calling to each other (and, I'm sure, to me saying "where are our peanuts?"). It's really fun to watch them, and that's how I get most of the action shots of the Blue Jays; they are swooping in and out to grab their precious treats. Have a great weekend!
Maureen
Hi Maureen! I just had to stop by and steal some looks at your amazing bird albums. Your new camera is really catching some fabulous shots of them. I have to tell you I have found that peanut butter(generic crunchy is cheapest) really draws in all kinds of birds and surprised to find that Eastern Mountain Bluebirds are attracted to it. There are about 4-6 of them waiting in the trees for me to come out each morning. I guess their softbills make the peanut butter treat a great source of energy. Thanks again for your wonderful images and enjoy my friend. ~ Sam
Hi Maureen, I was rewarded today by leaving my feeder out as one hummingbird is still hanging around. Probably a migrating one from farther north but I had assumed they were all gone around the 17th of the month. When they are finally gone I will certainly visit your albums to be reminded of what amazing creatures they are and how many wonderful images you have of them. ~ Sam
Hi Maureen, thanks for the nice comments on my dragonflies. You know, it is funny you mention your thoughts on these beautiful insects as a child. When I was a kid my mother told me to stay away from them because they would sew your mouth shut!!! I am sure she just didn't want me to hurt them but isn't it funny the things you are told as a child. I was scared of them too for that reason. Silly..... Rosie
Maureen, Thanks for your visit and comments and I trust your eyes heal well and that you continue to take the magnificent photos you always have. Your albums and a morning cup of coffee is a regular for me. Thanks always and I look forward to more. ~ Sam
Maureen, I want to thank you again for the use of your great photo. My son and daughter-in-law loved the oil painting. It made their Christmas. Like the rest of the world, we didn't have much money, so other than a few small things, this was their only present. You'll never know how much this meant to us. Thanks again.
Hope your Holidays are as happy as ours, dan and denise.
Hello from Yuma, Maureen! Thanks for your so sweet comment on my Sunset in July pics! I am happy that you enjoyed them. The sunsets are really awesome lately , and I just can't get enough of them! :) Thanks again, by the way, the hummingbirds are very rare right now, I don't think they are to happy with the heat at the moment, by October they should be back in full swing :) Thanks for visiting my sites! -Martina

I just got your latest hummer pictures & they are really great! You are so blessed to have so many hummers at your home. We have still had no luck getting one here, but we keep trying. Do you belong to Bob Sargent's Hummer/Bird Study Group? You would really enjoy his newsletter. Thanks for the great pictures! Hollis & Marj Green
Hi Maureen, Thank you so much for you lovely comments on my Hummingbird, I took your advice with the flash and they got a little bit better, Thanks again for all your help, Martina
