Hi Keith, thanks for all your comments on that recent drive I took in northeast El Paso. That area is still connected to Ft. Bliss Army base, so I suspect those weird poles are part of their operation. There really aren't many trees in that area, so your guess is right about the vultures having a good substitution. Thanks too, for your observation on the convergence lines in that shot of the clouds covering the mountain. We often get heavy clouds, but seldom get more than virga instead of rain. Recently we've been getting rare snow! Can you imagine snow on cacti? I have an album on that I just put up, also. My best to you always, Charlotte

Hi Keith~ I wanted to applaud you for your response to that recent spammer. I was hit by the "climate warning" as well. It really got me angry. I left them a message letting them know I would turn them in back when they did it but I guess that didn't carry much weight with them. I understand you setting things so only friends can get in touch...I am glad I am one of them! I hope you have a wonderful week~ Warm Regards, Peechez

Keith, I'm delighted you invited me to be a friend on WS! I think I've seen you on here from time to time, ever since I joined WS some years ago. Now not only will I be able to see more of your photos, but you will also be able to get a better view of mine. Believe me, I do understand the issue about loony tune spammers! My email address is listed in my profile if you should ever write directly. Thanks a bunch. Charlotte

Well Dear Friend it's good to hear from you once again, nice to know your starting to feel like yourself once again (I hope so). I have been having fun trying out the Orton Effects just to see how it changes the effect of the actual photo. All comments are appreciated. Weather here is sitting at +3C and no sun, snow is not far behind. I hope your sunshine will bring you better health in the days to come. Your far north friend...Jules :-)))

I forgot to mention Keith, that there was a tense, exciting moment or two when we rode that train. Well past the halfway point and high atop a mountain, our engine came off the track. The men worked feverishly with some contraption they carry to get the wheels back on the track. It took them about twenty minutes to successfully get us on our way again.

After reading more of your messages Keith, I wondered if you'd had a stroke. I had one in 1997 and know a bit about the fear and frustration they generate. Hope you're recuperating rapidly and well. chargerfree@mindspring.co m

Thanks for visiting a couple of my albums on the Cumbres & Toltec narrow gauge steam train, Keith. It's always delightful to hear from you. It's had to say which was more fun, riding or chasing the train! There were areas high in those mountains that were gorgeous, but we didn't know how to drive to them for more photos. Plus it had snowed the night before and I was a bit afraid of driving my little Hyundai on dirt roads there. Best to you, Charlotte

Yes. I used to do lapodary and love the opals from lightning ridge. That is mostly why I know of the place, plus thru my work I had some involvment in the area.

Hi Keith, I was checking out the blog and I see you're having trouble with the spam deterrent, too. If a number comes up 20-4; it still says incorrect response. Type in 204 instead-I've found this works. Ignore dashes in words, as well. Hope this helps. Lora

Hallo dear Keith, Thankyou for the many commments in my 'Worlds's End' album, Some of the comments I have replied to 'en situe', in case other viewers want to ask the same questions. .. I'm pleased that you are up and about again, and was pleased that you came along for the ride, but you really got a bit naughty about halfway through, kicking the presents under the tree, and asking 'havent we seen enough yet?' If you hadn't just recovered from being poorly, I might have got a bit cross. :-(( Poor Bert has to wrap up extra warm because he has dementure, and gets cold easily. Sorry you weren't too thrilled with this album, I'll try to do better next time. Meanwhile, Good to have you back. hope you're soon on top form again, Hugs, Sheila.

THANK YOU Keith for your visit. We DO hope that things are improving for you.Del had 2 TIA episodes and the doctors think that it was probably related to her having Lupus. She is now on medication which should help the problem (she has never taken medication so this is a BIG call for her ).One can only HOPE.More tests to be done but she got through the MRI which wasn't too pleasant. She is learning to go a little easier on herself. Our mileage is a tad more than yours so I guess it's time to smell the roses and take things slower.BIG GOLDEN HUGS, Bev & Del.

Thanks for the comments. The screen shadowed philodendron is a descendant of the decorative plants at our wedding in 1974. They will probably out last me!

Dear Keith, Thank you so much for coming by and leaving some generous comments on the Rose Parade. I will answer e-mail in a couple of days, out all day today. DFO's stand for Direct Factory Outlets, usually a lot cheaper than normal shopping centres. Have deleted some more roses so album is not quite so big. As for the Blue Moon Rose, yes it does have a perfume and is rather nice. Hugs, Shirley

Hi, Keith. Mi name is Juan from Argentina. I´m looking for a waratah photo and I saw that you have in your album. I want to know if you could send to me pictures about this flower to my email (talleres2008@hotmail.com ), because I want to use this picture like a symbol, and I can´t use it from this page. I hope that want to help me. Best Regards

Hi Keith. Thanks for all the compliments. I drove up to the mountains on 3 saturdays in a row. I don't think I'd been up there in spring before because I don't remember seeing so many waratahs & other wildflowers in abundance. The mist on the last trip made photography a bit difficult but the sights were magnificent. On each of the 3 trips I saw things that I hadn't seen on previous walks in the same areas. I've just worked out how to process RAW images (I'm a bit slow at times) & have just started a short Photoshop course. I hope you're enjoying spring.
