CONCERNING SPAMMERS. I wrote to webshots, who responded :”I have requested that these spammers be blocked from Webshots. We will be working to put in place security measures to reduce spammer activity in the future. I apologize for the inconvenience this causes. In the meantime, please send me the member name of spammers and I will block them from Webshots.” You also send the names of spammers (Help & Support ---> Send feedback). Thanks

I stumbled across a photo, and could not quit looking at your albums! They are very nice, some VERY entertaining. I saw on your comments about your problems with webshots :( So sorry to see that!!! Hello Mable,thank you for your message on my photo..Lovely Jasmine..you say the only one you ever see is white in the winter in our garden we have a winter one which is yellow but as a small flower and is a climbing plant then there is that yellow Jasmine that grows in the Spring also we have a white one that grows in the Summer,Hugs Jean xx.

Nobody can understand that your years of membership doesn't count by the number of your pictures, I think they break their own rules if they reduce them to 1,000! As a free member I've to live with the advertising, but I'm also frustrated, it's really too much the last months!

Dear webshots friends & fans: It has nothing to do with $$; it is the principal of the thing. Due to webshots no longer being a "family friendly" site, with its racially hostile fotos and borderline P-o-R-Z inclusion, even as features (no matter how many people flag the fotos), not to mention their advertising techiniques since selling out to American Greetings (American Cheatings), mabelscritterart will no longer be a premium sight. As of April 15, 2009, my site will revert to being FREE, as I will not pay them another cent. Such tactis as "graying out" our sites and making them unusable until we are forced to click on their advertisements, excuse me, "promotions" is ridiculous. Popups have gotten so bad, we cannot now even leave a comment on a foto as a popup blocks our typing. The more clever marketing techniques they come up with, the less paying users they will encounter.

Webshots use to be the number one foto sharing site online. However, I believe their AD tactics will cause their demise, rather than boost sales, and it hasn't even been a year yet! People are able to think for themselves and buy products when they deem necessary. Advertising all over their websites is horrendous and unthinkable. Mabelscritterart once was proud to boast 7,881 fotos out of a possible 18,000; downloads of 6,486 with 391,419 views as of March 21, 2009. I have deleted fotos down to 6,513 and have given up. After April 15th, these stats will change as fotos are confiscated ... oops, I mean, made "inaccesible" by A/G. They cannot even tell me which fotos will remain accessible, or what criteria they use, as they say it is done by random selection. Therefore, there is nothing more I can do. I use to go to webshots every single day, but now twice a month is about it. I have met wonderful people from all over the world, and thanks to e-mail remain in touch with them. From communication with AG, I have been told my fotos will go down to 1,000 and that membership years count for nothing. According to their own membership comparison page, it states 1,000 to start and 100 fotos per month for years of membership for a FREE site, which would equal 3,600 fotos for me. We will see what happens. Once again, it has been a blast while it lasted. Many hugs to all my friends and fans. This site will officially close to activity on April 15, 2009. :}
