  • HI Lorry, You have an amazing gallery of military info here!. I am hoping you will be able to assist me.... I am putting together a limited edition calendar - which has all the Rhodesian Forces badges. I know it will be a hard task whittling them down to just 12. Bill Wiggle of the RLI assoc gave me the link to you and suggested you may able to assist. I need art work of each badge for each force. Would you be able to assist me with this?   • Hi Lorry I'm a new member, joined today. I'm looking to download photos connected with the SAS, more like the ones you have and not the run of the mill photos. The reason is my father was in WW2 and was in the Staffs Reg then went into the LRDG and then into Popski's Private Army where he obtained a MM. As you know all of this led to the SAS where he served in Europe. I just want to set something up thats personal on my PC to commemerate this. This would be a personal venture so I'm asking you if I could download some of your SAS photos as JPEGS for use in this project. I'll understand if you refuse. Feckit

  • Hi Lorry - just found your site and thrilled that you have put photos of the Wankie Mine Disaster here. My brother was DOC Barclay (Graham) so glad that they are being honoured - there is a report out about the disaster. Go onto Facebook and there is a site for Wankie Residents started by Franky Rumbold Des Rumbold's widow. There you will fine all the old photos of Wankie and meet up with all the people that lived ther. Really great. Thank you once again for the great pictures. Have posted a great one of Doc on facebook, it was taken a few weeks before the disaster while we were in Durban on holiday. Regards Lynne

You can use any of the photos that you want, please just let me know where they are so I can download some of them. I do have about another 200 that must still be uploaded to webshots but am busy cataloging at the moment. Will let you know when the others are up.   • Hi Lorry I have a water colour montage showing all the insignias of the Military Forces including PATU Guard Force the Police The water Colour is called "To Brave Rhodesians" and has a Rhodesian Soldier plus the Rhodesian Coat of Arms in the middle and all the insignias around the sides, the paint has faded over the years.It was presented to my late husband and I believe it is quite unique Can you perhaps throw some light as to its value Regards Jan. rhodie@talktalk.net

  • Hello Mr Cole, I found your site has I was looking for French Legion images. What a site I found. The military images are outstanding.It is by far and away the best I have ever seen. There is pride and respect in each image. After serving 22 years in the British Army (INF) I can say your site makes me feel the pride that I had forgoten after I left the Army in 1993. Rememberance day and the news of the death of a soldier were the only things that made me sit up. Your site has made me stand up.
