May I have permission to share the photo "Montana de Oro State Park CA" (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2076321270014387105wgPVAB) with friends and family on Facebook? It's really lovely and I'd like to say it's my five-minute Peace of Mind escape for today. Of course I will give credit and a link to your Webshots album. Thank you! blaakwater@gmail.com
Hello Lilolewine!
You had given me tips about starting HDR project, which I have not attempted yet. I am going back east to capture some vibrant foliage among other things next week. hopefully, I will bring back some shots that I can play with HDR.
May I ask for advise from you should I encounter difficulties? I will also ask our dear friend Tiger.
My warm regards,
Thanks for viewing my San Francisco album. unfortunately, I had to delete the entire album from Webshots. I had technical difficulties and will only upload a fraction of my pictures and will not allow me to do captions. I will trouble shoot what I am doing wrong and hopefully you will come back to view the rest.
Warm regards, Catalina
Aloha,
Thank your for your kind comments on my images. I am truly honored!
I have uploaded a video today that feature many of my shots plus new ones. I hope you enjoy viewing it when you have the time.
Much Aloha,
Dave~
Thank you so much for you comment on my challenge entry. I was very surprised to make it into the top 10. The comments are really appreciated. All the best to you. ~~Barbara
Thanks, as always, for your critique. It was no wonder to me that you were not impressed with my Avalanche Falls photo. I was stretching, for sure, to add that photo. Just so you know, my favorite is http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2496025220053442417oykeDX -- so when are we gonna see some more fantastic photos of the beautiful California desert?
Thanks for the comments, my good friend. I deleted both of the photos, the last and the one with the out of focus foreground, the latter since it was very similar to another and the former because I was not really happy with the soft look of that one either. Of course, with the deletions, I lost two of your comments. :(
Hi there, thanks for your kind comments on our Peru album. As for the colors aren't they beautiful -- they are famous for the beauty and quality of the fabrics which are very fairly priced. Thanks again. Steve & Barbara, USA
Hi! just wanted to stop by and say thanks for your very kind comments on my Walk photos. Running out now but look forward to stopping back in to browse your albums as well! ~angie
Good Morning!
Many thanks for your visit to Montana album. your comments are greatly appreciated. I noticed we have 2 things in common. a)we are both Tiger's friends. b) we both own Nikkon D90. I like my D90 and just purchased zoom lens (18-200 mm). funny, yours and Tiger's comments on the last Montana image was not shot by Nikkon, but with less expensive compact camera (canon powershot G10). I eventually would like to get into HDR. It seems time consuming. I visited your latest album (backyard). amazing what a difference with images that are enhanced with HDR.
Have a lovely day and thanks again.
My friend, I am taking far more pictures from tripod, therefore better planning my compositions, as well as cropping when necessary. Strangely, I took all the photos in the album in one day but it took me three days to do all the post production work. I still have two more days worth of photographs to complete.
My great friend, I am so glad you wanted to know more about Travis, because as I looked at the best reference about things in Texas, I saw I had mistakenly named the monument for the wrong person. I am redfaced and have changed the title to reflect the right person, James Walker Fannin, Jr. Travis was the leader of the force defending the Alamo. Anyway, here are links to find probably more that you wanted to know of both. William Barrett Travis: http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/TT/ftr3.html and James Walker Fannin, Jr.: http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/FF/ffa2.html
The only true HDR photos in the whole Techincal Experiments album were Leon River and Neff Watertower 1-1 and Neff Watertower 2-1. Leon River from created from 3 bracketed photos in which the wind ghosted the vegetation very badly and from 3 out of 11 exposures on Watertower 1-1 due to the same ghosting problems. I was able to use all 10 images on Watertower 2-1. Some of the last photos in the album were produced by trying to use one RAW image to produce a psuedoHDR image in Photomatrix. The other "manipulated images" (some weren't) were produced by merging unaltered images over one highly (called local equalization on my Corel Draw Suite v12 software) equalized photo using usually either add, subtract, lighter, color, hue, saturation, behind, overlay, soft light, hard light, or color dodge filters. I had always done little more than minor color processing to my photos, thinking it a bit unfair to digitally alter my images. I am, however, finding it is widely accepted, often applauded, and, from some of the HDR photos I have seen, produces miraculous results. As such, I am experimenting more widely with the programs I already have some proficiency in using until I learn how to produce the type of HDR images I can be proud of. Also, from some of the images I have recently seen, some very vivid colors seem to come through in taking very long exposures on dark nights, so I am experimenting with that, as well. I got quite a few comments on the experiments, so excuse the time it took me to thank you for your the critique. I am definitely appreciative of your comments and suggestions. I have only recently begun to crop. I always reduce my photos to 2400x1600 at 300res, then, of late, convert some to object and stretch to fit the frame so as to improve compositions on "snap shots." I have some ambulatory problems with extensive walking, so take a great number of photos right out of the car window. This does not always allow for the best perspective. -- Tiger
