  • Hi, Len. Thank you for all your kind comments on my flower album. The orchid you liked is growing wild, as are all the orchids featured. Most of them, including that one, are growing in my own field, but there are also photos taken of orchids growing wild in roadside grassy banks within a mile or so of my home. In my field they flower in late June and July; that particular one was photographed on 11th July 2002. The foxgloves appeared this year in an area where I burned off thick brambles last year. I've been here 6 years, and never noticed foxgloves growing there before. Did you notice the mutations with pale pink flowers? The orchids should be in flower now too; the top field where most of them are is very overgrown, but I'll have to try to fight my way though the nettles, brambles and thistles to get to the grassy area where they grow, and see how well they are flowering this year. Best wishes from South Wales. Sue.

  • Good morning from England Len, I hope you are well. Can I just say thankyou so much for taking the time to visit and comment on my photo of the day, it's very much appreciated. I'm so pleased to hear that your son-in-law is coming back from his tour of duty in Iraq, please give him my thanks for the wonderful work he and his comrades are doing out there. These are difficult times and we owe so many military personnel a huge debt of gratitude. Thanks again Len, kindest regards, Andy.

  • Hi Len, How exciting for you to identify my dragonfly, and see that it was a beetle on my flower, not a bee. :) I am thrilled to have someone who knows the difference take the time to comment. (I edited my site.) Also, the patriot in me is thankful to you for service to our country. I am eager to finish viewing your site. - Very best regards, DeeAnne :)

  • Goodmorning Len. Thanks for the nice words in my mushroom-albums. They are both under construction. The season for mushrooms has just started here. But you are right. I do all colouring by myself, in my kitchen. Take care. warm regards. Anne-Marie
