  • Hi, Paul. You asked why I was in Bougainville! At the time the photo was taken (1965) I was the District Medical Officer doing a medical patrol between Tinputz and Wakunai. Somewhere up behind Pateaveave I guess. I returned to the island with the Australian Army in 2000 and in general terms the services were back to about 1950s standards. Best wishes

  • Thanks Paul for viewing and taking time to comment on my photo. I chased this rainbow to line up with this farm house, it was one of the most vivid rainbows I had ever seen. I left an 8x10 in the mailbox the following week. thanks again Betsy
