I'd like to use your photos of the Pelee Island Light on my web site about lighthouses. You can see the site at http://lighthousesrus.org/Erie.htm#ON13 (which at this time includes your photo). Please respond to me at c@lighthousesrus.org with approval or disapproval (I will remove the picture and the references if you so request.) If you approve, please tell me if you'd like me to continue to use your webshots ID, or your name. Charles Bash

Hullo! I just thought you should know I uploaded photos of the downtown after the water had cleared out.

Thanks for the compliment on the photos! This was actually taken before all of downtown was flooded. The river still hadn't overflowed its banks too much, but it was creeping up. 12 Hours later, everything in the photos was underwater. And that Railroad bridge is no longer there. But I'm sure you heard about that.

Hi: It's me again. My mom was quite excited when I sent her the link to your Web site. Her mother, my grandmother, Maria (Furo) Berg, took those old photos of the Furos when she went back to Europe in 1937. My e-mail is wayneinma46@yahoo.com

Hi: I think we may be related. My grandmother was Maria Furo, daughter of Matthias and Margaret. She came to the States from Ernsthausen early in the 20th century and married Josef Berg, who'd come from Romania. She spent most of her life in Chicago, then moved to California to live with my parents (my mother is her younger daughter, Mary Ann). I had no idea there were Furos living in the U.S. I'm not sure how to go about it, but I'd love to correspond with you.

Really enjoyed the pictures from Ernsthausen. My Great grandfather and family (Potje) immigrated to the US back in 1907 from there and was great to see photos from where my family came from. Like most families it seems they all ended up in St Louis.

Thank you for your nice comments on the Huntsville Space and Rocket Museum. I was stationed there for a while in the Army and fell in love with the city and Museum. We go there a lot.

Completely amazed by the 1944 map of Despotovac. My grandfather was born in Despotovac in 1921, but the family moved to the US shortly after. I'll be scouring it later today for my surname. And where are image44 and image45 from on page 6 of the Banat album? I can tell it's from 1830, but nothing else. My breath was stolen from me when I looked at line 65 in image45 - that's my last name, minus an L. Thank you thank you thank you for posting this. You've inspired me to keep digging deeper into my ancestry. Any links for information or public records for Despotovac would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
