I've tried everything else to get recognition here. I've used every power of my imagination, every technique I can think of and then some. And yet I remain out in the cold, on the darkening plain of Lonesome Valley plain under a glowring, lowering winter sky! The cold seeps into my aging bones. I face the end with grim determination....

As of of now I have completed 9,542 images. 458 to go. I’m up to 1,472,370 WS hits. Geez, I hope I don't get one of those dumb POTD's or a featured albums! That might push my Webshots hit-o-meter up to a speed I can't compete with. Leave me alone, Webshots editors!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments on on one of my albums. Webshots has been a lot of fun to post pictures on occasionally, even though I have no idea how people find some of the photos I have posted. I do believe too many people look at photography "rules" and say a photograph is "bad" even though it may be a fantastic photograph. That has always puzzled me. I once saw a "judge" talk about judging photographs and actually talked about why you should break rules. The judge then judged all the photos and criticized many of the photos about how they didn't follow the rules. This showed that judges want to to award the "safe" photograph. Strange... Richard

Hi Janice, Thank you for your comments on my Autumn Garden album. I must confess, that red leaf was posed. I found it nearby and thought it would work well against the brown. Regards, Lora

Hi Janice, In regards to the playing card fiasco in Digital Art, I received this message from "test63": "I don't think WS has control over Members Choice for things like Digital art etc in sub categories. If members book mark and favorite them,it stays until something else trumps in for being a favorite. I had one in News/Current Events for about 6 months. I was wondering if it would ever be replaced. I have had several be stuck for a long time." So maybe if we just stop thinking about the little guy, he'll go away? Paul

In answer to your question on my site about Adirondack land for sale: I was born here, left in 1977 and moved back in 2006. My wife and I have been looking for our own place since then, with no luck. You really need to be VERY careful if you want to buy in the Adirondacks. There are many rules most don't know about. Feel free to email me at ej_bowman@roadrunner.com

Apparently I did a lot of art works in 1983 ;-) "Aurora Wood Grain" was one of the many . Done with ball point pen . Did a lot of Ball point during that time . Until I almost went blind doing it and figured it was time to go on to something bigger ( felt tip pen ;-)"Flower Dance" and "Aurora Wood Grain" were actually some of my first colored works . I had been working for many many years in just black and white . Such as the "Sketch_at_age_12" which as it says I did at age twelve ;-) I was already considered an artist at age 7 . Worked in clay back then mostly ;-) I sold hand made jewelry at age 11 . Which was mostly clay , bead work and macrame' ;-)

I put 1983 on "Flower Dance" I'm not sure how it got dated that year because I know the frame was made a few years before that ( frame not in image ) I remember carving the frame in crafts class in high school .So that had to be before 1981 when I graduated . Maybe I did the drawing 3 years after the frame ;-/ ? The frame was almost banned from school because of it's vague reference to the 60's ;-) The frame has two carved flowers and vines like the one on the lower right . I'll post the frame later ;-)

Re: "Desert Rat Harvest" the desert rat involved is bi-pedal, has stereoscopic vision an opposable thumb, and a vestigial appendix. The piece of chrome he found in the desert now graces his chariot. And an eagle actually flew overhead on one of the turns around the desert track. Focused as I was on the bird-dog, I didn't notice the giant bird perched up on the high transmission pole. And I was too slow on the draw with the camera to catch him flying away. Dang!

It's a recumbent chariot! You should see me hurtling down hills with two dogs on either side, riding crop at the ready, eagles soaring overhead. I like to play Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" over the loudspeakers. If you look at the yellow chariot (in Fall 2009 album I think), you'll see it's armed with a silver Roman ramming prow for the occasional Doberman that gets in our way. Shall we dance? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sx7XNb3Q9Ek

Janice, "Condor Flamingos" offer no protection for Swine Flu. "Condom Flamingos do!" Pick some up at your local pharmacy. This offer is void where prohibited by law. Certain restrictions may apply. Consult your doctor before putting on a Condom Flamingo. Complications may include: extreme rash, bird flu, skin turning a pinkish hue, growing a beak, uncontrollable flapping of arms.
