  • Hi Ira! Sorry to be so late in getting back to your message. Sorry about your loss of job, but I'm sure you will find a better job in the near future. Our son-in-law has been laid off twice at his jobs (no fault of his own) and ends up with better paying jobs. Even though I don't like being a senior citizen, I'm just thankful that Bob doesn't have to go through all the worries about job security now that he's retired. How's the foot? I hope you got that screw removed successfully. Thanks for asking about my eyes. The cataract surgery went so well that I should have known better than to get too excited. Besides having the macular pucker in that same eye, I now have a hole in my retina in that eye and am scheduled for surgery on June 18. The part of this surgery is the recovery the week after that has me concerned. My retina specialist will place a gas bubble behind the retina and I will have to keep my eyes looking downward 24/7 (well I can go to the potty, eat and shower) for a week after the surgery. I think there is equipment I can rent that will keep my head in that looking down position (looks like those head things they use on the massage tables) while I sleep on my tummy, face down. Bob has already started putting his engineer's mind to work and has cable lines ready to connect to a TV which we will turn on its back for the floor. Now if I can just talk him into putting the computer monitor on the floor and the keyboard on a table while I'm looking straight down at it. Anyway, it should test my patience and his patience! I'll let you know how much fun I had after the surgery is over. I just hope I have a really, really good eye after two surgeries on it. :-) Hugs, Sharon

  • Ira! Good to hear from you, if only to say you need a bit of a break. Your life is full and that is wonderful. And congrats on the pending move to Grand Junction. We try to get out there every other year as David's parents and brother are there & the rest of his relatives in Denver. Beautiful place. (GJ - NOT Denver! lol) Sounds like you have a few yrs to wrap things up first before the move. Have a fantastic summer and come back whenever you are ready! ~Sue

  • Hi Ira. Looks like the trip to the Grand Canyon has been called off. We drive a diesel truck and seeing as we now pay over 4.oo a gallon for fuel we will not be doing much sight seeing. And due to a couple of other things we said forget it. Just not worth stressing over. But I will get there some day.

  • Hi Ira! Thanks for asking about my cataract surgery. Everything turned out great. My vision is 20/20 with glasses, and he really doesn't want me to get the macular pucker surgery done since I can see so well after having the cataract removed. He also won't remove the cataract in my right eye yet because I'm using it for close up. He says I don't even need the glasses, but I feel "naked" without them! LOL Anyway, I still have blurred vision with my left eye, but will probably put off the macular pucker surgery as long as I can. Messing around with the retina is pretty dangerous. Say Woof Woof to the building inspector. Hugs, Sharon

  • Hello Ira. I was trawling through Sharon's messages to find out when I last messaged her, and came across your message to Sharon about your "funny story" re your Cataract Op. Not so funny, tho! Glad to see you have a fantastic sense of humour! I had cataracts removed years ago, and they implanted lens in both eyes. Didn't quite get the prescription right, I reckon, and I have to have glasses to read comfortably. However, I now have a Cellophone Membrane growing behind the retina in my left eye, and when I was getting it checked, I mentioned that I had a very uncomfortable right eye. It turns out the membrane hadn't gown in 6 mths (Hip.Hip.Hoorah!) but I now have a Fibroid Scar Tissue growing in my right eye! Caused by rubbing the eye because it was irritating me! So, crooked lines appearing in front of left eye, and blurred vision in the right. What came first? The chicken or the egg?? I think he put the jolly lens in crooked, and it irritated the surrounding tissue, causing the Scar Tissue to grow. I then rubbed the sore eye, and voila! Laser treatment may eventually be the answer, but no-one gives any promises of good sight in the future. So we are both in a pickle with our jolly eyes, and we both have a strong appreciation of photography, and things interesting and beautiful to look at! Sorry to burden you with my tale! Just as well I have my dogs to hug! Cheers. Margaret downunder.

  • Dear Ira. If your W S name is your first name "idelson", than I want you to now that in Tel-Aviv and in my town Herzeliyya there are streets with this name. Abraham Hirsh Idelson , (1881-1938) was born in felsberg/Jurklne today Latvia, once a part of Germany and a part of the Soviet union. He came to our country at 1906 during the Turkish reign. He was a big musician and he creat the first Hebrew opera. But his most famed creation is the song HAVA-NAGILA that is famed all over the world. As you told me once that your family origin is from Russia, maybe you have some conections......RAN

  • Hello Ira. This is California Closets http://californiaclosets.com/ They are wonderful but SO expensive. I wouldn't pay that much now but several of our closets and pantry were done by them and it really was wonderful. Nothing near as nice as what you could create yourself with your wood working skills though!

  • Hi Ira. For my Lunar Eclipse pic, I used my other camera that has a 1.6X teleconverter that I attached. I was actually shooting at around 600mm. but the Xiff information is skewed with the teleconverter. I forgot to reset the menu when I added it. Rob

  • Hello Ira; I just love your profile shot. How precious that is. I am beside myself with happiness for Sharon and the fact that she will be moving to Maui in less than one week. She leaves on Sunday with everything she owns to start this new chapter of her life in the land that she longs for. The response to all of us brings tears to my eyes and for the generosity of spirit of everyone who sent along wishes and prayers for her. There are close to 90 messages as I write this and hope that you will come and read what everyone has written and also her response and the blessed news of her upcoming return to Maui. We have such a wonderful community at Webshots and I loved how everyone responded and the lovely messages that were left for her. Warmest wishes to you and your generous spirt. Hugs, Marjie http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2228035150036306757sfsylB

  • Hi Ira, I just popped by to answer your Q....I love the vignetting effect in this photo. Is that the way you captured it or did you do that with PhotoShop? I initially took the photo, and by using my new PS program I added the special lighting effects...thanks for your interest, take care now...Larry

  • You might undertand the work Martha the lady is doing with this little thing, and as I'm trying to explain this what is the better way to say with a simple word of ALTZHEIMER? By the way this has nothing to do with the photograph itself or this time this collage, only to tell you why this tribute to this very nice lady. A wish you saw something else in this picture my friend, not only this word altzheimer. With love - Antti

  • Hi Ira. You asked about the altzheimer.I'm often communicating that way, forgetting things, but that is exactly the way this little thing is acting - exactly the way they do in altzheimer, well fortunately I'm not, but this half blind, deaf and forgets where he is or was going, screeming for help and when Martha, the lady touches her and is there, is relaxed again but just for a moment only. This going on all the time - like in altzheimer - ? Warmest - Antti

  • Hi Ira! I thought when our last child got married and moved away that we would have lots of closet space. I give away clothes to charity organizations and the closets are still full and very unorganized. It's hopeless here! Thanks for asking about my eye surgery. It was very successful and so far, so good! I can't wait for my new prescription for glasses, but they say it will be 6 weeks. I'd love to sweet talk that doctor into doing the right eye cataract, but he only did the left eye, so that the retina specialist can do the macular pucker surgery in a few months. But I'm just thrilled with how bright everything is with my "new eye!" How's your wife's rotator cuff tendonitis? Mine was barking for a few weeks, but has settled down for the moment. Have a good evening. Hugs, Sharon

I also think if that guy is still at it that you and the rest who he has taken from should keep the pressure up on him and the sites that don't honnor you by letting his theif ways contuine. http://rightsforartists.org/

  • THere are a few people in this world who actually have to work afternoon..evening shifts ..so yes I have my lunch around 5.30 p.m...we all got to eat sometimes, myself, I would rather take shots on my lunchbreak. It is more satisfying to me...I work two afternoon evening shifts, and 3 regular day shifts...I once had a job working from 11:00 p.m, to 7:00 a.m in the morning...I hated it, because when I was trying to sleep, everyone else was awake....
