  • I don't know if you still check for messages, and this is last notice. I am trying to save a young, un-neutered male husky that was dumped off from a car outside the rail yard in VA that I work out of, many months ago (I'm a train conductor). He is scared of humans and it has taken me a long time to try and gain his trust. "Hobo" is still not ready to let me stroke him, yet he'll sniff my hands. My boss thinks Hobo did some expensive chewing damage at the yards this week, and I've been given a few days notice to have him out before they have him exterminated. A woman who runs a no-kill cat shelter is trying to help me, round up qualified people to catch him. She (Kim) has also arranged for him to stay on a dog trainer's property, in a 10 X 10 X 6 kennel, while we try and rehab Hobo, so I can adopt him. I am going over to trainer's house today, so we can try and "escape proof" kennel. Your link has been helpful. I am open to any more suggestions - or more detailed instruction. A concrete floor is out of question. Thanks Bonnie BonnieLeu@hotmail.com

  • Thank you for the comment on the F6F Grumman Hellcat. Yes it is the plane that replaced the F4F Grumman Wildcat which was a fighter all during WW2. The HEllcat was the princilal fighter on Carriers and later the F4U Vought Corsair was also flown off Carriers in late '44 and '45. The Navy did not use a 'Air Force' designation. During WW2 The Army 'Air Corp' was part of the US Army. Pres. Truman seperated the Air Corp out of the Army after WW2 and made it the independant Air Force. All Navy Aviators are Navy Officers. The Navy also trains the US Marines, US Coast Guard and many pilots of foreign Nations. Ray
