Dear Trudy, My albums are going to achieve 500 000 visits! So I created an album intitled "FOR ALL MY FRIENDS" only for you, to celebrate this goal! Everyone can choose one or more photos and download it to remember this result. Please, send me a message, so I can write your name under every chosen photo. I tried to create an album with a lot of photos, even if unpublished, so everyone can choose his own photo, but there is no problem if two or more friends choose the same photo! sorry that I have not got back to your newest folders until today, but I was away most of the summer/fall, and then ended up in hospital with a heart attack. I am recovering nicely, and am required to have rest periods, so I am catching up with all my friends webshots albums I missed while away.

Hi Trudy! Thanks for the tip about what might be eating my Sedum leaves. I've never seen anything on them, but I'll look for slugs! It never seems to hurt the blooming period, so maybe I'll just let all the critters enjoy the plant! :-) Hugs, Sharon

Hello again, my dear Trudy. I'm so glad you enjoyed my Roses collection. It's indeed just one rose my son picked up from our garden for his mother (my wife) and it occurred to me that could be the start of a new album. So, there'll be more roses coming in. It'll always be so good to hear from you, to read your comments and reviews, and touch base on a regular basis. Hope the weather in Oregon is that not hot. There was a new record temp in Havana today for the month of September (40 degrees, 104F, I guess). The previous mark had been set back in 1954.

Hi, my good Oregonian friend. I'd been trying to capture a hummer for quite some time and nature gave me that possibility last August during my vacation trip to Varadero Beach. A Spanish couple spotted the hummer in the swimming pool and rushed to let me know -they had seen me loafing around the poolside bar with my camera. I ran back to the spot and when I was ready to shoot, it just vanished from sight. I saw it fly staight to some tall shrubs in the beach line (cove grapes that grow abundantly in Cuba) and I followed it. A few minutes later, my effort paid off. Though I'm quite satisfied with the resulting shots, I still hoping to make a capture of one of these magnificent creatures in flight. The ruby-throated hummer seldom visits Cuba in the summer. This species (the emerald-neck hummer) is called colibri in standard Spanish, and zunzun, zunzuncito or pajaro mosca (fly bird) in Cuba. According to the Guiness Book of World Records, our emerald-neck hummer is the world's tiniest bird. Thanks for your visit and your nice comments. Hope you'll find this information useful.
