Hello Gwenn, Maybe we can be Webshots friends? If so, then please 'make friends' via my Webshots page? Best regards, Tom from The Netherlands. www.tomjutte.tk

Thank you very much for your message and kind comments. Yes, it's true, a suitable, fast-focusing lense helps enormously for such shots. In my case, of course, what helps even more, most of the time, is pure luck. Thanks again for your kindness and appreciation. ... Vangelis

Wow! Thank you so much Gwen for your kind words on "Halfway there". It takes quite a bit of work and just the right place to get the right photo. I really appreciate your inspiring comments! Wishing you a fabulous week! Blair

Hi, Gwenn. Thank you for your kind comments on my photos. No, I have not had any type of instruction in photography. It has always been a passion of mine since I can remember. You are very kind to ask.

Also... I would recommend going out to the Polynesian Cultural Center up at Laie; however, I wouldn't recommend buying into their luau package. PCC is the number one paid tourist attraction on Oahu for good reason. Far and away USS Arizona Memorial is the top destination on the island. The finals for the first leg of the Triple Crown of Surfing will be held at Ali'i Beach in Haleiwa on Thanksgiving Day. It will be choked with people; however, you'll see the best surfers in the world doing what they do best. Clark

Aloha Gwenn! Without a doubt, in my opinion the BEST luau on O'ahu is Paradise Cove. Whenever I have guests visiting from the Mainland, I take them there. It is very family oriented. Not only that, but be sure to take a camera as the sunset from there will be phenomenal unless, of course there is overcast conditions and we are rapidly approaching the rainy season. Here is link: http://www.paradisecovehawaii.com/ Also, be sure to visit USS Missouri while you're at Pearl Harbor! Clark from O'ahu.

Gwenn, Today I joined 200 other Ground Zero responders in reading the names of those who perished during the Attack on America. Needless to say, it was bittersweet event. While working on the pile, we never saw the faces of the missing nor their friends and families. There were no TV's -- no newspapers at the disaster site. But today, (Tuesday 9/11/07) we came face-to-face with them for the first time. When I walked up to the podium at 9:10am, my partner and I were overwhellmed by the thousands standing before us holding out photos of their loved ones and waving so many signs of thanks. There were 20 rescues by official count -- perhaps one hundred others that were never recorded. Those rescues, especially of Port Authority Police Sgt John McLoughlin and his partner Officer Will Jimeno, did a great deal to bolster the spirits of the thousand working at Ground Zero. Unfortunately, only one other rescue was made. Following 9/11/01, some fire-rescue personnel felt that they had failed, and failure is something firefighters, paramedics and law enforcement officers don't take to very well. 70,000 emergency and volunteer responders answered New York City's call for help during the day period following the disaster. They came from every state as well as Canada, Mexico, the UK, Germany, Italy, Israel and France. It was a nation coming together -- the world coming together in the spirit of volunteerism. Some say that we've lost that spirit, but Americans proved again during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita that they were up to the challenge. As Americans, it is one of the things we do best. Helping our neighbors in time of need. Thanks again for the kind comments. They will be shared with all of Ground Zero's responders. Lou Angeli September 11, 2007 (New York, NY)
