    • Hi Clara, It was so good to hear from you and to know that you haven't left WS. I'm very sorry to hear that life has thrown you a curve. If you have someone that will help you with taking your photos you could try using a tri-pod to keep the camera steady. I do so miss you wonderful photos of the wildlife in your area. Bears especially are my favorite. I have two large prints of Denali Bears by John Seerey-Lester in my livingroom...Jules

    • Thank you for your comment on my photo IMG 7544 A cash register. Photo was taken at a museum in Valdez. There was an area set up as a Bar and the cash register was displayed on the bar.

    • my sweetie, paulstainer, also known as Jerry, and I were diving through the Yukon and Alaska for the first time this summer..Outstanding views. I had some fun at Indian Valley Mines on the Turnagain arm area. We both liked Ninilchik, Atlin etc etc...whats not to like when the traffic is few and far between compared to the husle and bustle of where we live in the busy okanagan. Posted some albums, but still more to go.

    • Could you please email me (again) about that private train car -- the one that says LRCX 106 on the side. There is a parking lot in the foreground and a mountain in the background. email: tschannuth at aol dot com

    • peace. it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. it means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart. Wishing you and your family Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year 2009, Best wishes always, Jules

    • WOW!. What a surprise when I found this site. You have caught my attention with your site. I love the grizzly bears and have two large prints in my living/dining room. I have posted them on my site for viewing, hope you have time to view them. You must have had a good long lens to achieve such superb photos. I'd like to welcome you as my Webshots friend ....Jules from Ontario, Canada

    • When and where was the train shot of the private car taken? It's the one that says LRCX 106 on the side. There is a parking lot in the foreground and a mountain in the background. I've been looking for that train car for quite some time! Nice picture! email tschannuth at aol dot com

    • Grannyelge: Wonderful pics of Crown Point Mine. My wife and I have 4 wheeled up the trail the last two summers. Your shots have shown us another side of the mine that is not now visible, ie the buildings and rails are gone. Jim

    • Hello there, I moved from Soldotna in '05 and even though I knew I missed Alaska (especially Skilak Lake and area) I didn't realize how much until I saw your photos of Bottinintnin Lake, Engineer Lake, Russian River, Jim's Landing, etc. Thanks for sharing and letting me visit "home" again, I could smell and taste the clover-fresh air, see the fall leaves, feel the crisp autumn breeze. Thank you! Thank you!

    • Hi My name is Heidi Tanada. I'm the Area 9 Director for WMA. I've tried a number of times to contact members of the AK-1 chapter. Are you a member of the chapter? Can you give me any information regarding the membership? I would like to make a visit to the chapter sometime after convention, but have not found anyone who I can talk to. I've gotten hold of several of the ladies, but they have trouble hearing or understanding me. I would appreciate a reply.

    • grannyelge, Beautiful photos! My name is Sonya and I live and work in Idaho. I am conducting a 3-year study on the distribution and population status of harlequin ducks in Idaho. In addition to surveying ducks on streams where we know harlequins breed, I am soliciting observations from citizens to help identify additional breeding areas. I would like to ask permission to use your photo of a female harlequin duck on a poster for identification purposes. Please email me at sknetter@idfg.idaho.gov. Thank you so much.
