On Jan. 1964 I also loaded on the USS Mann in Oakland, destination, Korea. Probably the same route you took, Hawaii, Japan and then Inchon. It took us 19 days. From Inchon, I went to Taegu via train, spent 13 months in Taegu. I was with Co. B Sig. Long Line Battalion, Camp Walker & Camp Henry. On Feb. 1965 I boarded the USS Mitchell in Inchon, from there we went to Japan, Guam, Hawaii and then Oakland where I was discharged. It took us 21 days to return to the states from Inchon. You pictures are great, I never had pictures of the USS Mann so I'm thankful I found your site. I too, landed in Inchon aboard landing craft. Thanks, pajames1943

I was at Camp Zama for 2-1/2 years (Dec 60-May 63)and visited the places that you have photos of. But for 7 years I've searched for photos of Kishine Barracks, the 'orphan' US camp in Japan. Thanks to you, I now have 3 photos. Kishine was the replacement depot and most Army EM passed through the place, but no one seemed to care to take photos of it. Also, on Enoshima I took a number of photos of the causeway and the temples and shrines but none in the little street. That's a good one to add to my collection. Thanks.
