Hi Franz...I enjoy your photos so much, and as you know, I LOVE photos of winter scenes. Your Corvara shots last year were stunning. I see almost NO snow during the winter here. I'm also a big fan of Austria, and I don't get to visit as often as I would like. The walks you take through the Austrian countryside are beautiful. Thanks for visiting the Charleston album. I've always loved the city and the people. Puerto Rico was absolutely wonderful, thanks...I always enjoy returning there each year. This trip I spent more time with my neighbors and friends in the building and it really made the trip special. I lost a lot of photos of a couple recent trips as my desktop died and my automatic backup - didn't. I do have a few recent photos of Puerto Rico which I can download to my laptop and post. I'm a big fan of the sunsets there...sitting on my balcony overlooking the Atlantic with a glass of red vitamins (cabernet) as the sun goes down and the city lights come up - well, it's a very special time. I remind myself I must be grateful. Here in the states we are beginning our holiday season with Thanksgiving next week. The house is already decorated for Christmas, and the GRAND ILLUMINATION is Thanksgiving Day. I'm going to try to post some different things this year - not as nice as yours as I'm no photographer. Thanks many times over for the wonderful photos you post. They are most enjoyed.

Hi Franz. Regarding your question about how I do get sharp photos. I now have a full frame digital SLR, so the quality of the photos is good to start with. I also shoot exclusively RAW. I use the sharpening and noise reduction sliders provided in Adobe Camera Raw, a plugin provided with Photoshop. If that is not enough I use LAB Color sharpening technique in Photoshop. Hi Franz, thanks for your kind comments on my Zrenjanin albums and for visiting. I noticed you have some interestig new albums, 10 from Germany and Viena's cemetery, I'm hardly waiting to see them. Regarding cemeteries, I will upload a movie of catholic cemetery to (I think) Zrenjanin 2 album tomorow and a serial of photos of Evangelist cemetery to Zrenjanin 3 next week, so come by if you like, I knew your passion for cemeteries, so there will be something new. Hi Franz, Thanks for coming by again. As for some of your questions, no, that one photo of the tree flowers is not dogwood, it is some sort of berry blossom, as far as I know. It blooms every June and is the first thing I see when I wake in the morning, right outside my bedroom window. The shots of the misty woods are right next to my home. I am surrounded on two sides by woods and wetlands. I may not have a fancy house but my surroundings are lovely and I feel very blessed. My neighborhood is good, rather quiet, the way I like it. And yes, there are lots of birds, racoons, squirrels, chipmunks, skunks, deer and I even had a moose in my yard once. Rosie

You are right about the cultural manifestations of how different peoples ritualize their dead, but having been a geography teacher, it's an easy task for you to see this. Dear Franz, As we were talking about cemeteries; my stepmother, Rosemary, after retiring here in Canada, she decided to move back to England where she died eventually, a lovely graveyard I'm sure you'll appreciate. A webshots friend who lives in England made the journey on my behalf to visit the graveyard in Stottesdon, Shropshire ... here's the album she made and gave to me to put with my other family members. Well Franz your right, I guess I got one past the censors (just by chance). It's too bad you didn't get the time to visit Ontario and have the opportunity to try the wines from the Niagara region, I'm sure you wouldn't have been disappointed. British Columbia is also known for their great wines. I am pleased that you enjoyed my album. Walter and I have viewed most of your Austria and Germany albums and found them most informative for our next trip to these areas.
