  • Dear Simone! I apologize for not visiting you and Knut as I've done in the past. I heard very disturbing news last week on the Fox News Channel that Knut's owner and trainer died. Is that true? What's happening with Knut now? I'm sure he must feel the loss so deeply. Hugs, Miriam

  • Liebe Simone, danke fuer den Besuch meines Fu Long Albums! Ja - ich bin sehr oft dort. Aber da man fuer fuenf Minuten Fu Long eine halbe Stunde warten muss, ist es ziemlich zeitraubend. Oft ist er dann auch gar nicht zu sehen. Aber es wird sicher besser, wenn seine Mutter Yang Yang ihn ins Freie führt! Auf jeden Fall bleibe ich dran! My birthday is next week: January 5. Are you preoccupied with always striving for perfection? Supposedly that's one of our traits. I find it very difficult to compromise on quality! I think all Knutians envy your being able to spend Christmas at precious Knut's enclosure with him. Throw him a kiss across the enclosure for me.   • Good morning, Simone: I was looking at my messages today, and reread yours of about a month ago. When I was in college, I studied German. That was 45 years ago. I then had the opportunity to teach it for a couple of years about 40 years ago. You tell me that I do so well with it. I am a little ashamed of myself in that I have forgotten so much.
