Flo, you asked, Have you ever hiked the Juniper Ridge trail? I have not. Where is that trail? If it can be reached from the White Pass Highway, it may not be a long drive for me. Is it near Packwood or Randle?
Flo, thank you for your recent comments on several of my photos. This is the first pika that I have been close to for an extended period. It was very tolerant of me. Shellrock Peak is in Yakima County WA near Rimrock Reservoir (Bethel Ridge from White Pass Highway). I have been very lucky this year to see a number of Mountain goats. They are not as weary as deer and elk, but are sometimes difficult to locate. I have seen this band of goats almost every year for the last 8-10 years. A few years ago I didn't pay much attention to wildflowers, and knew few names. Recently I have started looking closely, and find that I have been walking by many that I didn't really see. Bitteroot is plentiful in the western US in dry mid to low elevation desert. It grows in gravelly soil, and is one of my favorite May/June blooming wildflowers. It is almost fluorescent in the right light. The photos that you commented on is about the highest elevation that I have found bitteroot, but perhaps I have not been at the high elevations places when it was blooming.
Hi Flo. Thanks for the lovely comment on my featured album, Hummingbird Moths (which are fairly new arrivals to our area, as far as I know - can't remember seeing them before). I didn't even find out about this feature until tonight - I'm staying in a hotel right now, and limited to checking my email only when a computer terminal is free. I will be visiting many new albums when I get home! ~ Brenda
Hi Flo. It is nice to hear from you and know you stopped by to visit my album. To reply to you comment. The Hawk got ahold of a young Duck in one of our ponds. The only reason I was able to photograph him was because the Duck was too heavy for him to fly with. He tried lol. The Daylilies were some wild growing ones out in a nearby hedgerow. I thought they looked pretty nice. Well, take care, Ray
Hi, Flo, Thank you very much gor kind words about my balcony. I really try to do my best to keep the plants in a good condition. Best regards. Yulia (The Netherlands)
Hi Auntie, I sure do love those ocean pictures. Boy, it makes me LONG to be in FLorida! At least I could cool off in the water. Love you - great shots! Sis & Hank

Flo, thank you for stopping by and commenting. I enjoyed going through some of your older, scenic photos of your camping trips.
