If you are interested in old sunbonnets, I suggest you visit my account and the albums marked "Jersey sunbonnets - bonnets" and "Guernsey & Sark Sunbonnets (bonnets)". These are caned (drawn) work bonnets from the islands of Jersey, Guernsey & Sark - British islands off the west coast of France (The Channel Islands / Iles Anglo-Normandes / Iles de la Manche). I have been in correspondance with some people who I think know you through the National Ranch Centre (Lubbock) or the Costume Society (or is it quilting? A while ago, so I forget). I am doing research on the Sanitary Commission and do appreciate the photos from the USSC Bulletin(?) at least I assume that is where they originated. Do you have any reference for them? Hello DuchessMartin, I just found your albums tonight and I really enjoyed looking at them. I live just North of Boston, and also reenact the USSC and have been doing so since 1993. I left a comment on one of your photo's that I actually saw a hospital ambulance when I was in PA on vacation this year at the National Civil War Museum. It is the only one known in existence and it was wonderful to see. I met Jan Romanovich at the 93 reenactment at Antietam and I believe I saw him in one of your photo's.
