    • Thanks for your insightful comments. I'm delighted that someone has spotted what I've done. The background is not actually somewhere where you would find an albatross, and was taken some months and some 500km away from the bird. In fact, the background, without the bird is on my WS site, and I've been waiting for someone to notice. For me, photography is an art form,not a recording process, and my albatross picture is not an attempt to deceive but to inspire. Every element of the picture is exactly as I wanted it to be, which would not be the case if I just pointed the camera and pressed the button - then a happy confluence of light, placing of the bird etc would owe more to luck and the design skills of the camera manufacturer than to my abilities. Most of my shots are tweaked to some degree or other and some are complete constructions. Isn't that what digital photography is all about?
