  • Hi There, I'm a swedish woman living in New Jersey and I'm currently working on a magazine for the Swedish Women's association (SWEA) (www.swea.org). I would like to use one of your photos as the cover for our magazine this fall/winter and was wondering if you would be willing to sell us a high-res copy. The photo is called "Shongum Lake in Randolph, Morris County, New Jersey" and can be found in a "Winter in New Jersey" album. The magazine will go out to all our members (around 90 at present), and it is basically filled with articles about our recent activities, news from Sweden etc. As we are not a commercial entity, our funds are limited but your name and contact details would be displayed in the magazine. Please contact me on emma@nordicwave.com as soon as possible as I have to send the magazine to the printers this week. Many thanks, Emma

  • Thank you so much for such insightful pictures of New York City. You clearly have a sense that comes only from loving New York.

  • in one of your other albums you refer to the purplish home on speedwell ave in morristown, home of one of the Vail sons as "wood hall". It is actually called "willow hall." I photographed it extensively recently for a real estate brochure and there is a sign out in front of the home saying "willow hall. I enjoyed many of your photos.

  • Hi Dan~Glad you liked my VT photos.Whenever I head up to Stowe I think of your college days in Burlington. While my wife prefers southern Vermont,I think I really like up north better.~Had a great time in Atlantic City during the Columbus Day weekend.I actually came out ahead $400!I won't kid myself though.I know that eventually the casino always wins.It really is a fabulous place to escape to every once in awhile though.~My next escape will be to the Hamptons for Halloween weekend.~Enjoy the autumn colors! ~Best,Bob

  • Hi Dan! ~ Looking at your photos opened up a floodgate of memories of great times down the shore.~As a very little boy my parents would bring my sister and me to Pt Pleasant Beach for day trips many times each summer.I fondly remember swimming in Jenkinsons salt water pool, which would be emptied and refilled every day.~My father had me convinced that sandwiches were invented at Pt Pleasant because those we brought to the beach always had sand in them by the time they got to our mouths!~Some of the very best memories of my childhood at Pt Pleasant! ~In my 20's I remember taking the drive down a number of times with the day ending with a few cold ones at Jenkinsons or The Riptide.(Another watering hole I remember, sort of,was the Osprey in Belmar/Spring Lake. Not the classiest place but lots of good times!) ~Got a kick out of your card/photo of the Sea Girt Inn!Sure do remember singing those Irish tunes and meeting lots of fun folks!(And avoiding several brawls in the parking lot!)A visit to your photos always opens up a delightful stroll down Memory Lane!Thank you!

  • As September 11th approaches, I hope we can all take a moment to bow our heads in silence and prayer and remember all who were tragically lost on that horrific day in 2001! I have made a video tribute for 9/11 entitled "Where were you when the world stopped turning?", if you get a chance, please answer. GOD BLESS YOU & GOD BLESS THE USA!!! Warmest & Best Wishes, Barbara

  • Sorry I missed your message about your trip to So Jersey Shore. We just got back from our 11 days in Vermont.Took lots of photos,(even a couple of Harvey Keitel who was just blending in at the Farmers Market in Stowe).Still have to post my AC/Ocean City album before I can get to the Vermont stuff.Hope you had a great time and I look forward to seeing your photos! ~ Best,Bob

  • Pressed something to cut the previous message short.AC was fabulous!I hadn't been there in 20 years and I discovered what a great time it offers. The boardwalk is the best, with the neat shops, casinos, and sprawling beach. We had beautiful weather for our 2 trips on the Cape May-Lewes ferry and the ride down to Ocean City was a breeze, once we got past that horrible stretch with all the outlets. The beach was outstanding and right outside the condo we rented.(7th floor with a big open porch overlooking the ocean.)BUT driving in OC was a nightmare on its one 10 lane highway, full of heavy traffic.I was also somewhat disappointed in the boardwalk. It doesn't measure up to several in NJ and doesn't come close to AC! ~ For a week,I prefer Wildwood, and for day trips Ocean Grove,Pt Pleasant, and Ocean City(NJ) are spots that I really enjoy.I'll be putting together an album of photos in Sept.(We're off for 10 days in Vermont on Monday.)~Enjoy the rest of the summer! ~ (PS-I'm proud to say that I didn't vote for Obama!!!)

  • Dan! First, thanks for the stuff you send.Always interesting.~Saw that you sold your house in Spring Lake. What made you decide to leave? Donna and I just spent a week in the Hamptons and are getting ready for our annual beach vacation with her parents. After 20 years of Wildwood Crest,we're going to try Ocean City,Md (1st time){Spunky passed away in Wildwood last July}We'll sandwich it with a couple of nights in Atlantic City.Later in Aug. will be the annual trip to Vermont.~Hope your enjoying the summer, but you must miss being at the shore a little.~ So how embarrassing is the behavior of the NY State Senate?!!!What a bunch of BUMS!!!~ Bob

  • Dan: Have you ever heard of a horseback riding club somewhere in Jersey City in the late 1930's - early 1940"s? It may have been in Lincoln Park. Thanks, Gin

  • Hi Dan, Great to hear from you. That picture I took (Walnford House)is at Crosswicks Creek Park in Monmouth County. It is by Hightstown, where Rte. 537 crosses Rte 33. The next few weeks will be a great time to go there and get some more photos. In early spring the flowers in that park are blooming and you can get a shot of orange flowers blooming against the blue back drop of the Walnford house. You might find more info on it (and directions) at the Monmouth County Parks website. Bob

  • Hi dbeards3: I work for a NJ based not-for-profit organization. We have new space with a long hall that we want to hang 8 poster size photos of NJ scenes. You have some great photos of Newark, Atlantic City and the western areas. We are willing to pay for the photos. I just found this site and guess I shouldn't post my direct contact info here. I'm hoping if you are interested and respond you can direct me how we communicate offline. Thanks. msmall0155

  • Hi, I am doing a presentation on the Hudson River for the Quadricentennial. I came across your photos -which are great. With your permission, I would like to use some of them. It is a not for profit project, but I would give you a photo credit. I would need higher res images - over 1270 wide. Please let me know - there are about 6 photos that I would like to use.

  • So good to hear from you,Dan!~I've been having some back problems and going for physical therapy. But I'm heading for a week in the Hamptons in April, and looking forward to spending as much time as I can manage down the Jersey Shore this summer!~On a different note, one of the teachers in school was admiring your calendar and wanted to know if she could buy a couple. Is there someone that I could tell her to contact?(Told her I'd ask.)~Really miss Spunky, but my wife's just not ready for a new dog yet.~Thanks for the comments on my albums!~Warmest regards,Bob

  • Hey Dan ~ Thanks for your recent visits and comments.I've sort of taken a break from WEBSHOTS to work on a project on my FACEBOOK page.I recently scanned and posted many old photos of many students and classes I've had through the years. The response was overwhelming as many left messages on my Wall. Now I am in the process of scanning and posting photo pages from the school Yearbook.I have them all since 1984 so it's taking quite a while.Over 120 former students have contacted me so far and it's quite rewarding to know where they are now in their lives.~~~God willing,my wife and I will be heading to VERMONT for "Presidents' Week" in February so I'm hope to have a bunch of new photos to post on WEBSHOTS.Winter is not the best time of the year for photo-taking.I almost froze my hands off recently trying to photograph geese on a frozen pond!~~~I'll watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, but I'm just so disappointed that the Giants aren't defending!~~Hang in there and let's hope that dang groundhog doesn't see his shadow next week!~~~Warmest regards,Bob
