Hi Annie,
My husband and I just purchased what we think is a National Windsor treadle sewing machine. It's a little beat up, but it still works, and I plan on using it for quilting. I can't find anything about Windsor machines - can you tell me anything about it? Thanks! My email is ssansbur@vt.edu
Thanks again,
Katie
Hello there! I just came across a website recommending you as the most knowledgable about sewing machines. I have a machine which my aunt gave me and I was wondering if you could offer any assistance as to the value of the machine. It appears to be a National Sewing Machine Model-B, {seamstress reversew b}. I have posted picture of the machine on my profile if that helps.. any help would be much appreciated (if you have the time that is).
Hello! I just bought a sewing machine at a garage sale for $10. Seems like a good deal to me. I don't know a thing about how to use it besides that the lady said it was her Great-Gma's and I don't know why she wanted to be rid of it. Here is the info from the machine and a photo. Is this a good deal? Should I put the money into it to make sure it's working properly?? Any info on how much it may be worth?? Thank you
On the inside of the desk, there is a metal plate with the following number stamped on it:
F45 NS 3783
On the bottom of the Machine is the following number: 555305685
There is a model number listed on the back of the machine also. It says Montgomery Ward Model 30.
I have all the books and an assortment of attachments to go with it as well. It has a stool that opens up to store all the sewing essentials and fits into the front of the machine. It is in fantastic condition for the possible age of the machine. Any help would be great!

I just found vintage sewing machine that appears to be model or make "Blue grass" that is on the top of the machine . There's not much other information there except a model number and it says "Made in USA". I've extensively searched via Google, entering these details and haven't come up with Any information, Does anyone have a good source for vintage sewing machine information? The metal tag under this machine says in black metal with gold writing NSMCO Model A and this is all I can find on this machine..its really lovly looking I would love some sort of input on it..
below is a link with the pictures If anyone can help me it would be great..My email is Nicci.bow69@gmail.com

I found your website recommending you as the most knowledgeable about National Sewing Machines. I bought a treadle "Richmond" this weekend, but it does not look like your Richmond. Mine only has one spool holder in the middle of the machine, and the thread tension is on the same side as you would sew from. I am missing some pieces and was wondering if you could help me identify it. If you email me, I can send you pictures.
Thank you,

Hello! We have a NIB National N80 Overlock sewing machine that has never been used. Can you offer any assistance as to the value of this machine? Thank you so much, Karen :)
Hi,
We're getting ready for a garage sale and I have a National model 210. It was purchased new in 1976 and used very little. Do you have any idea what it's worth?
Thanks,
Bobbie
Hi, a couple of weeks ago, I was thinking about how my new machine was just too tempermental and how I wanted an old machine that would just sew. Later that day, I drove past a house where someone was putting a cabinet machine (the kind that folds into a table) to the curb! What luck! I finally got around to looking at it today and realize that I have no clue about how to use it.
It's a National Reversew REX and the serial number is 66812. I would post pictures, but we lost the charger to our camera.
It looks like the electrical cord has been replaced, but I can't get it to work. We're having an electrician in tomorrow (for something different) and I think I'm going to have him take a look at it.
If you could offer any insight into its age and how to make it work, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Cicily
damascusannie, I stumbled across a web forum called iVillage/Garden Web were you described your expertise on vintage sewing machines and a "Coronado" machine in particular. I just acquired the exact vintage sewing machine pictured in that thread. The only difference is the name stenciled on the side. Instead of "Coronado" it reads "National Rotary." If you don't mind I'd like to know more about it. What do you recommend I do to find out?
Here's the thread link: http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/sewing/msg0614134120239.html
Hello Annie,
I am interested in learning the old technique of chain stitching embroidery? They used it a lot in the 1950's on patches and also for putting names on clothing? The only thing I know about the art, is that it is done on a machine but using you hands to guide the fabric. I am thinking of buying a wilcox and Gibbs chain stitcher but am wondering if you have done this kind of thing and what is the learning curve? I am very handy with embroidering and also sewing as well as doing applique with my "modern" machine! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love to give you a call and talk about it if possible.

hello damascuannie,
I have a question for you and you seem to be an expert on National sewing machines. i have a 1930's electric reversew portable machine and i cant find parts for it, especially bobbins for the long shuttle. i was wondering if you could fill me in on a supplier for parts.
Hi! I have a Coronado Deluxe Precision Sewing Machine Model 040. It's a pearly dark green machine with black and chrome accents. It goes forward reverse and has 3 fabric settings. Others have said it was made by Brother but on Garden Web you were saying Coronado was made by National Sewing Machine. Motor says MADE IN USA and the Precision label on the front says MADE IN JAPAN. The chrome plate on the front and curvy lines make it look very Art Deco as opposed to the big shiny boxy ones of the 60s/70s. Anyways I'm just looking for more info on this machine and what year this might have been made. It doesn't have the NSMCO plate and I was wondering about its history. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!
I have a 1938 3/4 size National Sewing Machine. It is a Riversew and is black with gold. It is in very good condition with one exception--someone has taken the motor and plug off and lost them. I do have the part of the motor that screws to the head. The wood base is in good condition and the cover has torn fabric. I also have the close to perfect Certificate of Warranty dated Sept 1938. Does anyone out there have an interest in this machine for parts or restoration. Chris - email is cstone1422@gmail.com -- I'm in Nevada.
Hello Annie, A picture on your site shows a Weird National sewing machine(treadle). A close-up photo shows a handwheel and a bobbinwinder in the center. I have been searching for a loose pully nut and I see it is also called a bobbin winder. The machine I bought has National Sewing Machine Co. on the machine and is in good condition but the bobbin winder is missing. Do you know if that part is still available? Thanks, Margaret
Dear Annie,
I have just purchased a Wards Damascus Rotary treadle sewing machine. I can not find a serial number, but the patents say 3-15-14 to 4-16-15. I am looking for a manual, and tried the web site stitches in time, and it would not work. Also, any other info about this machine would be great. Thanks!
Melody
Dear Annie
I'm not sure if I'm leaving this message in the right place so forgive me. I'm looking for your expert advice on a Coronada sewing machine from my fathers estate. It is turquoise and beige and is marked as a Deluxe streamliner. Can you tell me what it's worth? Please email me at dovesearch@aol.com if you could. Thank you so much! Reene
Hello,
I am a member of ISMACS Digest and that is where I first saw your name.
I have been looking for a two spool machine ever since I saw your photo page.
Needless to say I have not had much luck. Actually, I had never heard of such a machine before that.
I would love to purchase one in good working order. If I ever found one, I think I would even part with most of my others. I have about 35 in all, counting my newer machines, not really collector's items. Thanks for letting me spout off and if you should know of one for sale, I would be interested.
Judy Bent in Canada.
Hello Anne: My name is Sharon and I have recently acqured my mother's (and previously grandmother's) "Seamstress Grand" treadle antique sewing machine. I have not been able to find any information locally regarding this machine and found your web-site. The sewing machine has similar design to the Damascus Grand and there is a #2401674 stamped under the pressure foot plate which I assume is the serial number. My mother remembers sewing all of their family's clothing as well as binder slats for their combine. My mother also seems to think the machine came from Holland where her mother originated from, but the machine is stamped "made in the U.S.A. Could you please clear this up for me and give me any other information you can find about this sewing machine. My e-mail address is savoort@telusplanet.net. Thank you - Sharon
