  • Hello John - Directory covers can be challenging and I've been very fortunate to come across some great shots here on Webshots and nice members who let me use their work. I browsed your albums - wow! We only have two properties in Tennessee, Adamsville and Ooltewah. I'll check in periodically and see your new postings. Thanks for the nice comments! Kerri

  • Hi John!! Thanks for you recent note on my tulip shot!! That's one of my favorites too. I think the biggest fun of having my entries all in one place is seeing the gradual (I HOPE) improvement in my abilities. You wondered if it would be worthwhile to submit the same shot more than once ...and the answer is yes, it is!! David (gdg1130) entered his green apples at least twice, and the last time it either won or come in second place ... second I think? I've entered my birdie on horseback in more than one challenge. Didn't win either time, tho!! And I had the tulip shot you liked on the assembly line to enter in flowers this week until I switched it, just for the heck of it, at the last minute. So, bottom line, yes ... it is done and done successfully!!! I think if you have a shot that you love and you believe in, enter it as many times as you like!!! I even considered entering the heron and the horse again for this week's lyrics challenge: "Ride, ride, ride, hitchin' a ride!" Considered, but actually, I think I'll sit this week out. Thanks for your note!! Nothing I like better than chatting about photography!!! Best regards ... Lois

  • Glad you looked at my spiderwort. When I said fuzzy, I was referring to the spidery centers, yours has many more than mine. I don't know what to call them, I know they are not the stamen, but are they all pistils? I haven't tried any extra lens, still just getting used to the digital camera. thanks for all your comments. Joan

  • Thank you for your visit. That was Lake St. Clair. I agree with you about the lake colors here vs. those on the coasts. The lakes here always look so inviting on a day with some sunshine. Any chance you'll share your other site so I can take a look at your Mich. photos? I have a guess actually...col.j.b. (abbrev.) possibly? I may be on the wrong track... It's always nice to come across someone else from Michigan. Have a good day! Gail

  • Hi John, I have painted one of them, and think that it turned out great! But since I don't want to publish it in this area, due to my copyright on it, if you will tell me where to send the image to you, I would be happy to do that. I believe you will be pleased. Cecilia

  • Hi John, well, that was someone else's camera, and it's gone back home. I could not find my tripod to save my life! I was doing well just to look over the camera and paint whilst holding the camera! I thought, I do not dare try to talk or I will totally mess this up! Ha Ha... However, if I get really good enough and sell a lot of art, I will buy a good setup, or get a pro to make the movie. You can see my art at http://www.artmaker.com and I think that I am just about to paint one of your rhodies. I'm refining the drawing right now. Thanks, I will send you a picture when it's done, I still have a digital camera but it is not as nice as the one I did have! Best wishes, Cecilia
